Just Pavliks handlers didnt realize how over-rated he was until Hopkins beat the snot outta him.

This is just bull****. Pavlik will clean out the middleweight division and then all the bandwagon monkeys who are currently gargling abraham's nuts will be talking about how "protected" and "overrated" he was.

He si not that over rated. He is what he is. No one ever called him the next Floyd Mayweather. Everyone is over rated after they get beat. He's young, he got schooled, But you can't take away that he beat Taylor twice, no one else, can claim that, not Winky or Bhop. I think the next two years will tell us how good he is.

If Pavlik ducks Abraham to fight John Duddy, he'll lose a lot of respect.

            Yes.

Before the Hopkins fight they seemed serious about Pavlik fighting Abraham. But after that embarassing loss to old B-Hop, they seem to want to protect him by having him fight lesser opposition.

First of all this fight is a toss up, there is no way to determine who will win before the fight. Second of all F UCK Arum, duddy? are you ***in kidding me Duddy? How is the duddy fight going to make more money then AA. Just because 10,000 Irishmen in boston will order the damw fight all of a sudden this becomes a more lucrative fight then AA. Spare the bull**** arum. AA is willing to come and do the fight in the US with top rank promoting, but if Arum doesnt think he can make money in the US, i guranteeeeeeeeeee Saudlerland offers 3X as much as Pavlik makes aainst duddy to stage the fight in Germany. **** man they put up more money for Sturm to fight AA then Pavlik made against Bhop (dont forget the reason for fighting Bhop was money).

Fighting 10 LBS above your weight against one of the cagiest most seasoned fighters in the game and losing doesn't make you overrated. It only makes you overrated to the boxingscene posters who jump from conclusion to conclusion after every saturday night. All it proves is that Pavlik and his handlers on this occasion were a bit foolhardy and definitely guessed wrong. Haters need to start over.

As a boxing fan I find that attitude strange - and it's terrible for the long term health of the sport.

It is very easy to give lectures and pontificate about legacies, but professional boxing has always been about money. As it happens the top opponents usually draw the most fans and consequently provide the biggest paychecks. Pavlik went after Hopkins primarily for the money. Despite the fact the fans don't really like Hopkins, Pavlik could make more money against him than some no-name mandatory. Abraham is the biggest fight Pavlik can hope to get. It may cost him his title, but that is where the money is.

The man is avoided more than Joshua Clottey. Sturm ran from him and now Pavlik is hiding behind Arum. If Pavlik really wanted to fight AA, he wouldve forced Arum into making it, but he's just gonna stay nice and quiet behind that greddy ****.

Well said. But, I think the real reason Arum is protecting Pavlik is because he knows that Pavlik's reign looks like its gonna be short lived. Arum is gonna try to squeeze as much as he can while Pavlik is still a viable name. But he cant protect him forever. Kessler tried running away from Calzaghe as long as he could, and when they fought, it was a career killer for Kessler.
