Roy Jones over Hopkins. No type of boxing fundamentals stops Jones in his prime. He didn’t lose a freaking fight for well over a decade. As far as I am concerned it is cut, and dry, and it is possible that we will never see anything like him again.

The problem is... you don't know what you're talking about.

You just hear someone else say that, and simply repeat it, without actually knowing what you're saying.

if we are looking at the 90's, its roy without question.. but as of now, hopkins will be known for being so old and still so good, while jones will alwayse be haunted by the ko losses.....

bernard in the end may rank higher on the atg list, even tho i like jones more

But there were a fair few bums Jones fought though, the thing is the American PR machine made them seem like greats.

Do you know ANYTHING about Bernard Hopkins middleweight run?

They both fought there share of bums...

By 03, he had fought 7 of the top 10 in his division.

****, most heavyweights were scared of a prime Jones. Hell, even I was scared of prime Jones for fear of pure embarrassment, and I ain’t scare of nobody. From 154 to 175 Jones gives anyone in the history of the sport serious problems.

Funny thing is people have the nerve to call guys like Harding, Griffin, and Johnson bums (or ordinary/average). Those guys were world class fighters and Roy whipped up on em.

                Malonga
                Castro
                Gonzalez
                Woods

Those guys aren't scrubs. They aren't world beaters but that's solid opposition for most.

Most will pick Roy, but when you compare the two Roy always used his great reflexs to win fights and never took the time to master any of boxings fundamentals. While Bernard mastered his fundamentals and is still beating up 27 year old champions at 43. While Roy no longer has amazing handspeed and his technical shortcomings have got him beat up several times over the last 5 years.

Prime-for-prime Jones was the better fighter. I know Hopkins prime is up for debate but I think mid 90's Jones takes any version of Hopkins. He was just on another level than everyone else. As far as accomplishments I got to give it to B-Hop.

Roy, because he did it more effortlessly.

Hopkins was more of a grinder, even when he was easily winning..
