Mmmmm ... I lost my original reply to you but here goes. Cotto may not neccessarily have to dish out any money. Casinos and large sports venues pay big (site and promotional) fees to lure lucrative boxing events. Read "Four Kings" by Kimball, the book is about the careers of Leonard, Hagler, Hearns and Duran. In the book he highlights some of Leonard's career moves including the Mike Trainer thing. It's doable for Cotto provided he has someone that offers good legal and promotional guidance. For those of you (like me) who had the pleasure to see any of the "Four Kings" in action back in the day, this book is a must read. Excellent! Just like reliving each fight but with much more historical background insight than we had during the actual events.

The Margarito issue is what has finally pissed Cotto to the point of leaving Top Pank, but is not the main reason.

Since Cotto was so loyal to Arum, arum was trying to rip Cotto off. At first at the time of the Judah fight Arum wanted Cotto to get rid of Evangelista and to start training in Florida and Cotto told him to **** off. Then Arum tried to pay only 3 Mills to Cotto for the Mosley fight, wich is ridiculous, because thats the less Cotto can get paid by arum, wich is stipulated in his contract. And Cotto was the draw in that fight. And the Arum tried the same Bull**** for the Margarito fight. Thats why Miguel was late to sign the Contract. and then is supporting a proven cheater, so Cotto said enough i enough. Cotto never said anything, because he dont like controversies nor handle his bussiness in a disrespectfull matter. But Cotto and his team has been pissed since forever now!!!!!!!!

I heard after the jennings fight, they are Planing to buyout of his contract and sign with GBP, to co-promote his fights with his own promotional company!!!!!!!!

Wow, Cotto has inspired me with his kindness and respectful ways, he really deserves way better promoter than that ****head, i just hate how people take your kindness for weakness. Cotto should go ahead and make the smarter moves quick and wise. My #1 fighter no matter what, he does have a nice heart, he is humble. Cotto should be P---ed off. Arum is supporting a fighter who took something from him illegally that he can never get back and that's a "0" in the lost column. Cotto will never have the chance to try to go undefeated and create history that very few have done. Instead of fighting Margarito maybe he should go across his head with a metal pipe. This guy stole something from two undefeated fighters that they can never get back. Beating Margarito and demolishing him will not erase that "0".

While I agree with that point, it would be very unfair not to acknowledge that Arum has done a great job building Cotto into a star who now makes a couple million (minimum) for his fights now. All Arum did was stay loyal to his client when he could have just jumped off a sinking ship.

What Arum has done right was put him in the right path, but other than that he been raping all his fighters since day 1.
