I'm not justifying it, I'm simply trying to explain to you guys why this is a PPV event. Without a major network to pick up the card, they are left with really no other option.
they could fight on versus network or espn.

Boxer's nowaday's are babied too much. I got beat up last year. Boo ****ing hoo. You're a proffesional right? So get back in there and do what u do. Fighting an unknown from half way around the world doesnt cut it.

This coming from a diehard Cotto fan!

No one is arguing with you on why it is or not a ppv, I'm just saying that whether it is or not, I'm not paying a god damn dime for it. Arum is already making a **** load by staging it in Ohio, and MSG.

i dont think it was cotto's choice to fight jennings, bob wanted it for cotto. cotto wants to be a champ again so he has to fight jennings for that wbo belt

A much more appealing matchup would've been Cotto/Berto for that WBC strap. At least fans here actually know who Berto is, and have seen him fight before. Cotto needs to learn how to speak up, and not let Arum dictate every single move for Cotto. Both Oscar and Floyd didnt become highly successfull until AFTER they left Arum. Maybe Cotto should consider following in thier footsteps. Matching Cotto against guys like Gomez and Jennings while in his prime is NOT going to help his career.

I understand where you are coming from. But if you have to remember that when this fight was made, Cotto was being pointed for a Margarito rematch. Taking that fight without a tuneup would be both foolish and make it a harder sell without people seeing Cotto back to his old destructive self. Now that everything has changed, the WBO title Cotto figures to win in this fight will give him some added leverage for whatever fight ends up being made in June.
