PPV got to do better in this economy

in this bad economy when money is tight; PPV has got to give us something better to pay for. Pavlick vs WHO? and Cotto vs WHO? !!!! come on PPV , and to add insult to injury... you give us ****ty undercards. Friday night fight got you beat by a long shot.. How can Cotto get beat down (weather Margarito cheated or not) and come back to a PPV bout with a knowbody unknown???? Hell..Margarito at least came back to fight Shane Mosley....On HBO!!!!! I urge everyone Not to pay your hard earn money on this USLESS event. please what do you think?

Actually this is PPV because neither HBO or Showtime was willing to pick this card up. They are doing their part by only picking up good quality fights and they viewed this as mismatches.

So Top Rank really had no other choice but to have it on PPV. Although it's ****** as hell that they are charging $45 or whatever it is. It should be $10-$20.

This is why UFC consistantly puts up 500-600k+ buys, while a crappy ppv card like this will do 150k if thier LUCKY. Bringing in two unknows to fight Cotto and Pavlik is a recipe for a failed/unsuccesfull ppv, and will do nothing for the sport as a whole. Arum is just worried about keeping his fighters marketable with 2 easy wins. Its B.S if u ask me.

These are the kind of ppv's that you find illegally online, hook up your computer to the tv, call up some friends and watch. There is no way I would pay a red cent to Mr. Arum for garbage like this. If HBO or showtime didn't wanna pick this up, he shouldve tried Versus, HDnet, or anything. Charging 45 bones for this is comical.

Every word you said is true. If they charged $20-$25 for this it might do ok. Charging twice that much is a total ripoff.

If HBO or Showtime didnt wanna pick this up, that alone should tell Arum that these are 2 bull**** matchups that should be scrapped!

I don't think you guys realize that this PPV will be a success if it does 75k-100k buys, in the eyes of Top Rank. Like I already stated, HBO and Showtime didn't want to pick up the card, so the only other alternative is to have a low level PPV.

I'm not justifying it, I'm simply trying to explain to you guys why this is a PPV event. Without a major network to pick up the card, they are left with really no other option.

To be fair to Arum, Pavlik needs to fight his mandatory, and Cotto badly needs a tune up after the beating he took last summer. These fights need to happen. It's just too bad it ends up like this. But I'd rather keep the Showtime and HBO spots for better matchups.

tune up fights on ppv is pretty ridiculous.

the question is, are puerto ricans and white america dumb enough to buy it
