One would think the weight would work for him, not against him, as he may already be nearing the end of his ability to make 160 without draining himself.

The Bernard Win Over Pavlik

Lol why the caps, I read it, seems like you might be hinting at weight maybe? Well Pavlik fought at 166 and looked fine, even went as far to say before the fight he was fine. Thing is who had he fought with lateral movement before? Thats the question that should be asked and the answer is nobody, so its not the weight but the style.Originally posted by reedickyaluss View PostREAD the post then.

I think you're correct that Pavlik at 170 did not look like the beast of 160. I also think we could see he was a bit more sluggish looking when he went up in weight in taylor pavlik 2.. so it doesn't come as a complete surprise.. However, I do think that B-Hop provided a very difficult target who used some of the very same tactics Mosley used against Margarito. He never allowed pavlik to find his range.. I think B-Hop definitely deserves a lot of credit but I think it is also clear that Pavlik, atleast for now isn't very effective at 170. However, had B-hop been some other fighter and chosen just to stand in Pavlik's wheelhouse and trade with Pavlik, there is a good chance Kelly would have looked a lot better. I honestly believe the loss will help Pavlik.. He learned the hard way he'll need to add depth to his game.Originally posted by reedickyaluss View PostREAD the post then.

I agree, a conventional fighter like Taylor is much more available for Pavlik's offense. Hop took that away from Pavlik. With that said you've got Kelly who is a guy that overpowers you moving up 10 lbs to fight the p4p # 4(I think that was his ranking at the time).. You're going to have a lot of trouble. Feints, angles, jumping inside of Kelly's wheelhouse and pushing back, B-hop fought a great fight. I guess we dont' know how good it was since it's the only time we've seen Kelly at 170.Originally posted by Bhopreign View PostLol why the caps, I read it, seems like you might be hinting at weight maybe? Pavlik was a moving punchbag because Hopkins made him fight this way. He used his footwork and defense to set Pavlik off rhythm and took Kelly's jab and right hand away, Once you take the jab from Pavlik he has nothing, Everything Pavlik does starts with the jab. I think Hopkins power surprised him also, Hopkins hurt him a early in the fight which i feel affected Pavliks workrate as the fight went on because he became weary of Hopkins power shots.
For Hopkins at 43 to do what he did to a undefeated champion is a great achivement.

The only question I was asking is HOW HIGH do you rate this win with everything involved.Originally posted by Bhopreign View PostLol why the caps, I read it, seems like you might be hinting at weight maybe? And why the caps? well for starters, you came in here and was beein an immediate ****.
You didn't understand what was being asked so the first thing you could think of was... what's wrong with Roy fans?
What's wrong with people who can't read a post.... the 62 posts before you had no problem.
