    Thanks Silencer

Ive only seen 1 or 2 highlights of Valero's fights and they ended quickly so i dont know that much about him.
The Weebler II will be posting Hatton love threads for weeks afterwards.

    Thanks to you too.

Valero is technically flawed, most of his punches are used to set up his straight left hand which is a very good punch, he lunges in a lot and headhunts too much and drops his hands too much. He has pretty fast hands.

I thought since the first time I saw Valero that if he fought a guy who knew how to take a couple of steps back when Valero commits to throwing his left hand and then counterpunch him with a straight right hand, he'd be in trouble. There are rumors that he's become a much better fighter technically recently since he started training with Kenny Adams in Vegas but we won't know until he fights Pitalua. A technically sound Valero could be a very tough guy to beat.

I know he's sparred with DLH and Morales leading up to his third fight with Pacquiao. I don't think there's footage of him sparring DLH but he definitely held his own with Morales and maybe even got the better of the session that I saw, even though Morales was pretty past it, it's still impressive.

He has an annoying habit of lifting up his protector during fights, creates an unfair advantage because he normally lifts it all the way up to chest level, it guards him against his opponents' body shots.

Interesting i will have to find more about Valero.

BTW have you noticed that Bernard Hopkins moves into the left hand when fighting Southpaws, but he is still effective.

Hatton is the type of fighter that makes you fight his fight and the only fighter to have neutralized him whilst coming foward is Mayweather and that was, because .....

1 is the best fighter of our era

2 The refereed implemented the rules properly, but he also penalized Hatton unfairly on occasion too.

All the guys who have let Hatton come foward have had sporadic success against him, but none of them have beaten him, because...

1 his workrate and aggression is always gonna be favoured.

2 Hatton takes away your leaverage when he puts you on the backfoot so you cant get maximum power into your shots.

3 He mauls and stays close so you cant extention on your shots.

Evander Holyfield beat Mike Tyson, because he did not allow him to come foward. Holyfield achieved this by holding Tyson and literally walking him onto the backfoot where he could then command the centre of the ring and keep Mike on the backfoot etc.

Pacquiao is not as strong as Hatton i realizes, but if he is going to beat Hatton he MUST back him up. Otherwise he will have to rely on catching Hatton on the way in, but as i said earlier the only fighter who has had the smarts to set Hatton up for that big shot is Mayweather and as much as i like Pacquaio he is not Floyd Mayweather.

Whether Pac backs him up with his power or physically backs him up by holding him and walking him back he MUST back him up.

I firmly believe Tszyu would of knocked Hatton out, if the fight had been in the centre of the ring where Tszyu could got some time and space to measure Hatton, not to mention a proper referee.
Pac will use lateral movement to neutralize Hatton's inside game and the crazy angles shot will do the job knocking him out..

Some fighters can do that, Hopkins knows how to use his shoulders, feints and footwork to create angles for himself and to confuse his opponents while moving into a southpaw's left hand, he makes it look easy but it definitely isn't.

Id seen Hopkins previous fights with Allen, but because of how lackluster they were i was in two minds whether to watch the 3rd fight, but i did in the end, it was on undercard to DLH vs Sturm as you probably already know, it looked to me like Allen had been paid to lose. He looked dejected in the corner like he did not want to win the fight and his expressions seem to be showing a lack of willingness to win the fight too. although i might not be giving B Hop enough credit for doing a number on him.

Hopkins is real nice with the movement, but also the timing of his movement, He gave calzaghe so many problems cos calzaghe couldnt get set long enough to get anything decent on him, hopkins kinda moves, parries, just before you get set, moves again, its a ****ing nightmare trying to get something decent on him.

The Hopkins-Allen trilogy is one of the most pointless in history, it's just good to watch to see how much Hopkins had improved technically from the first fight, Allen looked pretty bad in the third fight, I don't think he was paid to lose though because he could have just stayed down after the knockdown, I was surprised he got back up from that, beautiful right hand from Hopkins.

While i agree with that and can be quoted saying Hatton has no chance vs Pacquiao, thinking back to the Mayweather fight we all know the straight right hand is one of the best weapons he had as a fighter and yet, vs Hatton he had trouble landing that in the first half of the fight and did not stop Hatton coming forward having to clinch him very often. However Pacquiao is at this stage faster than Mayweather (the 30 year old Mayweather that fought Hatton) and that could have something to do with it. Hatton is very good at cutting distance and if Pacquiao doesn't move sideways he's gonna be in for a painful night. But i still favor Pacquiao by TKO round 6.

As Mayweather said, he started throwing right hand leads almost exclusively against Hatton to get Hatton's mind off the lead left hook, and you could see him do just that after about 2 rounds of the fight, he was throwing lead left hooks in rounds 1 and 2 and stopped throwing them until the latter stages of the fight while throwing a lot of lead right hands, when a fighter is looking for a shot it makes it that much harder to land it, and that was what Hatton was doing, he was looking for the right hand lead, he looked for it so much he didn't see the left hook he got caught with. And as I said, I feel that Mayweather let Hatton get him on the inside because he knew he could stand his ground and get the better of Hatton in there, Hatton getting on the inside had more to do with Mayweather allowing him to do so more than Hatton forcing Mayweather to fight him there.
