Comparing Corrales-Castillo II to Nate's performance tonight

maybe in Nate's case being in shape would have led to the same result as he won more rounds but didn't score the knockdowns. maybe he would have won anyway, but the point is make weight. that's all I'm asking from fighters.
if boxing is your job, take it seriously and stay in shape all year round. stay around your fighting way like Mayweather, Hopkins, and the other greats did and still do. don't show up to camp having to lose 10 pounds. that's a crock of **** and shows you don't take your career seriously. you only fight twice a year anyway. stay in shape all the time and you can fight three times and increase your yearly earnings by 1/3. failing to make weight is never, ever an excuse. not when guys like B-Hop do it to perfection at age 43.Comment

But the whole point of my post is, you're not necessarily bringing more knockout power being 3 pounds heavier but dehydrated to the max compared to being 3 pounds lighter but in shape and healthy...
I'd like I can punch harder when and with more force and speed, if I'm in shape and healthy compared to being dehydrated and spent, but with 3 extra pounds on me...Comment

if you can't make weight, then get to a weight class where you can and stop trying to pick on little guysComment

I just feel like the extent of the dehydration equals out the 3 pound weight advantage... nate seemed to look it too...Comment

but Nate's saying the week of the fight he's always about 4-5 pounds heavy at the top of the week. that's just bull**** in my book. by fight week, you should be right there, 1 pound or 2 off, but 4-5 is absurd. I doubt any of you play with your careers like that. if your boss demands you be in at 8:00 every day for one week, I doubt any of you show up at 9:00 or 10:00 without damn good excuses.Comment

well, may he rest in peace, but I stopped supporting Corrales when he failed to make weight. I still cheered for him but I sure as hell didn't stick up for him after that if something bad was said about him. you lose that right when you screw up.

Although nate says he just can't make 135 anymore, so who knows...Comment
