You were saying this fight was pointless for Funeka to go through with, which is nuts.

Whether he wins or loses he is better off fighting than not fighting, same goes for Campbell.

Edit: I see your above post but what you said originally was (paraphrase) "the fight is pointless for anyone not names Nate Campbell"
Yeah, I meant the 135-140 landscape. Maybe I'm not being fair to Funeka, but did anyone think he would win this fight before the weigh in shock? I meant this doesn't do any good for fans, Marquez, Diaz, anybody. If Funeka wins, he should be super praised. I stand corrected.

Funeka has only been a slight underdog since the betting opened, so I think it is fair to say that quite a few people thought he would win.

He does hold a considerable height advantage and Campbell is very old for the division and we have seen in the past with guys like Castillo, Corrales, Casamayor who all of a sudden look old overnight.

You can still bet on Funeka at +160, I put $100 on him myself.

Their is obviously an advantage to being overweight as Castillo proved but unlike JLC it sounds like Campbell really killed himself to drop the weight and just couldn't do it. Whereas Castillo knew damn well he wasn't gonna make the weight and also knew that a warrior like Corrales would go through with the fight regardless.

I think Timothy Bradley would fight anyone put in front of him.

I definitely think Campbell tried to make weight because he talks like he's that kind of guy, but you can never be sure. I was thinking of picking Funeka just because Campbell is the most inconsistent fighter on the planet, even more so than Zab Judah. But I wouldn't touch a fight where a guy failed to make weight because it's just too unpredictable. Too many intangibles are thrown into play here.

As Diaz and Kid Diamond learned, if you're undefeated and starting to put together some great performances, you don't fight Nate Campbell because Campbell will show up for that fight.

I think a better question is who wouldn't? Urango, Witter, Torres, Gomez, Forbes, Hatton, Pacqiao, Holt, Bradley, Alexander, Ortiz, D.Hop, Judah, Malignaggi, Ndoudgjo, Marquez, Khan. You think most of these ppl would have significant reasons to not fight Campbell if he beat Funeka? And Nate was already in preliminary talks with Hatton.

the only ones on that list that you could get in the ring with Campbell are guys coming off a loss, and thus not the elite of the group. I asked for top 140lbers. I don't consider Ngoudjo, Khan, D-Hop, Forbes, Gomez or Witter top 140lbers

Earlier you posted that it was important to Campbell.
Now you post its important to Funeka. So since it is important to both participants then the fight obviously has some significance

                      Bradley wouldn't give a ****.

Mainly because the big names at 140 aren't going to fight him so he will have to take a decent name anytime he can get one.

Bradley will not be hesitate to fight a 37 year old former champ who is moving up in weight.
