Rubio is another easy opponent for Pavlik, like Lockett was - but because they are mandatories, there is a justification for fighting them. However, if he takes on another easy one like Duddy next instead of 1) Arthur Abraham, 2) the winner of Williams-Wright, or 3) Felix Sturm, I will be very disappointed.
I agree. Pavlik has the networks by the balls and can pick any opponent he wants. If he picks Duddy after getting rid of his mandatory it's just...... .......

    • Funny thing is, Duddy's trainer was saying that he would go down in weight to fight in the jr mw division because he didn't feel he was a natural mw. I'm highly critical of a Pavlik-Duddy fight for all the obvious reasons but, let's see what happens next week and how good/bad each respective fighter looks like. If Pavlik isn't back to his usual self and struggles with Rubio and Duddy excels with Vanda then this fight might make sense...

he was discussed as a pavlik opponent until he got cut up bad against a scrub..duddy needs 2 step up in comp and prove hes deserving of a shot..and duddy is not a top rank fighter...hes signd 2 irish ropes

Abraham's Footwork= Some of the worst ive seen from a 'top fighter'.

Could you persuade Kelly and his team, then, please? It's obvious they think Abraham would beat him.

Even if you believe that, how is it Duddy's fault that PAVLIK is choosing to fight him? If Duddy is so unworthy of a title shot then you blame the Champion for choosing this fight. It's not like Duddy is a mandatory or something.

Pavlik has all these "great" wins and yet he's choosing to fight Duddy and you're blaming a fighter (Duddy) with nothing to lose and everything to gain, every fighters dream (to be a Champ) for taking this fight if it's offered. It makes NO sense...

AA's next opponent is rated at 33 by Boxrec and it is obvious that Pavlik has fought better fighters. It is also my humble opinion that even Sturm has faced better opposition.
You think pointing out that he's been The Ring's #1 contender for ages means we think he can walk on water??? Don't be an idiot, it just means most boxing experts think he's the #1 rated challenger for the middleweight crown - that's all it means no more and no less. However, it also means that if Pavlik won't fight him, it's because he doesn't think he can win.

Abraham also destroyed Miranda in their rematch far more easily than Pavlik or anyone else has done, which is maybe what got Pavlik's team so scared.

I think Rubio deserves to be in the top ten. Have you looked at the top 10 after Sturm? It's terrible.

                    3. Sebastian Sylvester (Got dominated by Sturm)
                    4. Khoren Gevor (Gave his all, but lost to Arthur Abraham)
                    5. Randy Griffin (Draw with Sturm and then clear loss)
                    6. David Lopez (Worked his way up to the rakings the hard way. Not sure how good of a fighter he is)
                    7. Javier Castillejo (LOL)
                    8. Marco Antonio Rubio (Here is Rubio)
                    9. Amin Asikainen (Slaughtered by Slyvester and lost to Gevor)
                    10. Daniel Geale (Undefeated Aussie, but who?)

Rubio deserves to be there, probably Ornelas does too, but the division is at an all time low. It's terrible besides the top guys. I'll take the late 90s-early 00s over this lower crop anyday

Unless they want to fight in Germany...
I doubt Abraham would price himself out of this fight, he wants it badly. And all they have to do is make him an offer and call his bluff ...
