This may be true to some extent, but not if you're the no. 1 P4P champ. You'll always get a fast pass on any divisions you want to fight in, true story Terry...Comment

Very true. And had we had advance knowledge that Nate was going to have a weight issue, we would have "vacated" the titles 2 months ago, never accepted the Funeka fight, and been given a #1 rating at 140. But once he missed weight, all bets were off.
Some folks may choose not to believe him, but Nate was completely on schedule with weight up until yesterday. When he did 4 hours and change in the steam room at Bally's (15 minute increments) and lost less than 1/2 pound total, we knew it was going to be tough. Nate still felt he could make it though. It wasnt until about 10:30 this morning that things looked doubtful.Last edited by OnePunch; 02-14-2009, 12:52 AM.Comment

I stated it that way because technically we knew wednesday he was a hair off, but it didnt get serious until yesterday. And even yesterday, even this morning for that matter Nate thought he was still going to make weight.Last edited by OnePunch; 02-14-2009, 01:10 AM.Comment

On Feb 11, Nate was right on target with weight. He didnt hit the wall until yesterday, when the last 3 wouldnt come off. Unless GBP is psychic and knew Nate wouldnt make weight this time, I dont see what your point is. They were, and are, grooming the "winner" of that tournament to fight the Diaz-Marquez winner. Nate missing weight just makes it official thats all.
Nate did not "screw up". His weight was on target the entire camp. He came into fight week at 139, which is right where he is supposed to be (actually, he usually begins fight week at 140-141). However, on Wednesday and Thursday, when he typically drops the last 2-3 pounds, it simply wouldnt come off. It certainly wasnt for a lack of effort on Nate's part. He spent almost 4 hours yesterday in the steam room at Bally's, only to lose 1/4 pound. And all day today was spent trying to take off those last 3. At 36 though, his body simply said "thats it".Last edited by warp1432; 02-14-2009, 01:09 AM.Comment

Wednesday he was about 1/2 pound off schedule, but it had been a cool day so he didnt get the sweat running that he wanted. He didnt think it was that a big deal, and that he would make it up on Thurs. (yesterday).
