Also....why do the hell do you list Khan-Barrera first? Was that really the next possible fight you guys were going to look into?
Yes it was. Barerra was our WBO mandatory, so if we couldnt land the Diaz-Marquez winner first, we would have had to look at the winner of Khan-Barerra for our WBO mando, which would have been due by august.

But as for the Diaz-Marquez winner, odds were we wouldnt have gotten that fight anyways. But unless someone at GBP had a crystal ball and can see into the future, they wouldnt have known Nate couldnt make 135 anymore. Nate himself didnt even know it for certain until this afternoon. So you cant really use the "he wouldnt have made weight anyways" thing as an excuse, because nobody knew that up until several hours ago.....

Not to be a total ****, but how do you know Marquez would have ducked you guys? I mean he was the one who tried to fight you guys originally in November and all, but you turned it down (for good reason at the time I guess. It was a pretty ****** move though seeing as how things turned out).

Schaffier expressed what seemed great interest in trying to make that fight. I can see the Diaz reason because of Willie Savannah, but why Marquez?

Assuming people are going to duck you and cry about being ducked loses a lot of respect in my book. It's the reason why I don't like Nate Campbell at all.

I'm just saying that it's ****** to complain about how they are going to duck you when you don't have a basis for it (at least for Marquez) and when it turns out Nate wouldn't have been making the weight anyway, seems even more ******. Even if anyone could predict it.

Mighty Mike is going to destroy Ortiz. Why would Nate want to fight a beaten fighter?

Nate sucks bottom line. The idea of him as lightweight champion for the past year has been a complete joke to anyone who has followed his career. He's inconsistent as anybody I've ever seen and got one lucky win by showing up against Juan Diaz. I have no respect for people like him.

Actually, we believe Marquez would absolutely have fought Nate, and Nacho even said as much in an interview. But 99% of the time the fighter doesnt make that decision, the promoter does. And EVERY "linear" lightweight title fight that has taken place since GBP signed Casamayor has involved 2 GBP fighters. I do not expect that trend to change anytime soon.

I think it changes. Casamayor is the best argument on why Campbell is/was a ducked fighter. I personally don't think that Casamayor wanted any piece of him for that low of a price you guys were giving him (520k, to the 640k he would have made against Diaz and probably made something similar to Marquez I think) and wanted the rematch.

So now that Casamayor is out of the title picture, I think GBP would do the fight. Richard Schaffier, a promoter for GBP, wants for Marquez-Campbell. Too bad it probably won't happen at all now.

I never have sympathy for failing to make weight. It's the easiest thing to do in boxing. If you can't make weight, you are just an undisciplined loser and that goes for anyone who has ever had problems at the scales. Either stay around your fighting weight all year round like Mayweather and Hopkins or move up to heavyweight if you're an unmotivated loser. You fight two times a year tops. How hard can it be to go through two training camps a year? NFL and NBA players go through way more than boxers do nowadays.

hey I never got your thoughts on Margacheeto hahahahahaha. How does it feel to finally see the truth about the fraud you've been supporting from day one on here? Does it upset you that pretty much EVERYONE who knows anything about boxing knew the guy was a fraud except you?

This is no disrespect to Shaeffer, but he wants Marquez-Campbell about as much as you want a bag on your hip. Had we signed with them, then its a different story. But Richard is a businessman first, and making in-house fights where they control both sides is alot easier than dealing with Don, Bob, etc. I understand why he does it, cause its the same stuff Don and Bob have done for years, but it still makes it difficult sometimes when fights (unless they are mega-fights) dont get made because of promotional issues.......
