Dawson is a good fighter, but he's still a bit too green for an opponet like Hopkins. If it ever went off, I'd be very confident that Hopkins would son him. Confident like I was in the Tarver, Wright, and Pavlik fights.

I believe he is. Iceman Scully also said he was always a natural light heavy who boiled down to middle. Plus he walks around at 180 - 190 pounds.

Hopkins can retire on top with nothing to prove, Calzaghe on the other hand retired as punk and everybody knows it.

The Pavlic upset is a good win to retire on. His legacy is already huge and in time it will only grow. Retiring on a good win really helps a fighters legacy.

You could tell he really wanted that Calzaghe rematch badly. Now that Calzaghe is retired, and I belive Calzaghe is the type to stay out for good when he retires and not come back, there just arent any fights out there that really interest Bhop anymore. He could fight Dawson but it wont be the super fight that his last ones have been. He wanted jones but lost interest in it after seeing how shot he is.

I think it is the perfect time for him to retire.
