It's not surprising. He's in the same boat that Calzaghe was in prior to retirement : There's just nothing left as far as a big, meaningful fight is concerned. Hopkins has done it all, the only thing I could possibly see being worth his time would be a fight with Dawson, or capturing a Cruiserweight title. Other than that, there's nothing.
And major props to him not bending on the possibility of a Jones rematch. How many other fighters do you know who would pass up on the opportunity to avenge a loss like that one, against a shot Hall of Famer who you would easily beat? All the while making a pretty decent paycheck at the same time.
I would love to see Hopkins fight Dawson. It would be better than Dawson vs Glen Johnson.I honestly think Hopkins could pull it out. With his craftiness and defense, anything would be possible.
:roflKessler's a nobody man. Stop trying to pump him up because he lost to Calzaghe. The guy hasn't done **** against anybody.
Thats because he cant get the big fights, they keep ducking him, just like they did with joe for years, kessler would destory old man popkins, it wouldent even go the distance
When kessler gets a break he will take america by storm wait and see
isn't ironic that B-Hop and Calzaghe are comfortable with retiring while Roy is still lookin' for fights considering that most people do rate Roy over both B-Hop and Calzaghe.....I just wish Roy would come around back to reality and call it a career after this Sheika stunt......Big up Ex!!!
