  • reason why hopkins fights smaller fighters

when he was at 160..there were no big money fights..so he had to fight the fighters from lower divisions...when he jumped to 175..he beat the only name there..tarver..and had to find fighters from other division who brought money to the table...we all know hopkins fears no man..so its obvious

i think he fought pavlik just to prove a point..pavlik beat taylor twice so hopkins wanted to beat dat ass...plus pavlik is a bigger draw than dawson....and he's white..lol..he had to beat a white boy after the calzaghe fight...not racist

And he isn't the first guy to enhance his legacy by fighting smaller opponents. Plenty of fighters across all the divisions and throughout history have made their name by defeating smaller foes. To me it's a non-issue.

Haha I got you bro. That was pretty funny though. Well Dawson is starting to have a big following now. Or is it that he doesn't have to come up several divisions to face Hopkins?? Hopkins fears really good boxers his size.

doubtful..but at his age he knows his limitations..and fighting a young strong fast lightheavy isnt on his agenda nor should it...

Hagler is known for his fights with Duran, Hearns and Sugar Ray Leonard, all smaller men. But they were the big names in the game. Just like Hopkins fought trinidad and de la hoya, who just so happened to be the biggest names in the sport.

hopkins doesnt fear anyone. If he doesnt want to fight chad, thats his decision. At age 44, and after accomplishing everything he has, you cannot demand him to fight anyone.

If you want to be the best, you have to fight the best out there your division. Isn't Hopkins claiming he's the best?

This thread has nothing to do with Calzaghe.
