Chad didn't write that LOL... you see that a lot...fighters supposedly writing these challenger, statements, letters etc...and it is clear to me that 99 pct. of the time they didn't write them. I'll never understand that

I remember you mentioned this before and that's the first thing that came to mind when I read that. Not to say that Dawson isn't a nice guy but based on the real interviews I've heard this just doesn't seem to match his personality.

It's much worse than nationalistic - it's extreme xenophobia. Plus he has no boxing knowledge. Nevertheless, (a) I've seen a lot more posts from haters recently than I have seen of this type of idiotic post, and (b) blaming a fighter for his fans is ignorant, especially when it's a relatively small minority of his fans.

How the hell is he a legend?? He beat 43 nobody's and then came here to fight two WAY past their prime legends that he was too scared to fight when they were prime and he beat one of them. Bhop beat hime. how is that Legendary?????

Fans like that certainly don't help his cause. I do agree that there are plenty of haters against Joe but with posters like Ricky and Great Joe, it evens out.

The excuse that is often made is that if Calzaghe would have agreed to fight 'Bad' Chad Dawson and subsequently beat Dawson, everyone would mention that Joe should fight the next big challenger.
On the contrary, it seems that most people would agree that if Joe had fought Dawson and beat him, his legacy would be pristine. No one in the world would be able to doubt his legacy or demand he fight on after such a feat. All it took was one more fight to shut up everyone who doubts him.
Because he didn't, Calzaghe's legacy...is a question mark. How anti-climactic.
