I don't why you think having an undefeated record is the end all be all. Do you think Joe Calzaghe is one of the top five fighter's of all time or something? Personally, anyone who retires with an undefeated record leaves a lot of questions IMO. Look at Robinson, Ali, etc...they had multiple losses. Sit back and try to figure out why that it is. Don't think too long though - it's really not that hard.

Finally, he gets respect. What more do you want???

im not saying that it makes him anything at all im saying not many fighters do what he has done and shud be respected for it personaly i think hes a cry baby but i respect him as a fighter ive said a million times i wanted him to lose to roy jones and yeah ali and others lost because they took risks which maybe joe didnt but why take a risk when you can win without it it wouldnt make sence in not looking for a fight over this but i just think joe gets shot down way to fast and badmouthed fact its hes done what a lot of fighters havent and i feel he should be given maybe just a little credit for it and and if u wanna no my personal fave 5 fighters of all time and y here u go

1. Mike Tyson (because he has the most exciting boxer of my time)
2. Roy Jones jr (because i liked his style of fighting/dancing)
3. Ali. (because he was one of the most intellegent fighters ever)
4. Marciano. (because he never new when to quit. biggest heart)
5. Joe Louis. (because his fight with max schmelling was the first fight i ever saw with my grandad and what made me get into boxing)

all of the above got beat but i think there all better than joe been undefeated obviously means he was a great fighter it dont mean he was the best not by far all im gettin at is ppl are comin out like he was 0-46 not 46-0

...But if that's the case Nigel Benn has wrong quoted when he say the best middleweights or doesn't know what his saying....but actually, it's nonsense if he doesn't know cause actually he meant it since all of them have been fighting in the middleweight in the later part...Leonard/Duran 3 is in the WBC SMW Championship, Leonard/Hearns 2 WBC & WBO SMW Championship, Leonard/Hagler WBC MW Championship, Hagler/Hearns WBC/WBA/IBF MW Championship, Hearns/Duran WBC LMW Championship, Hagler/Duran WBC/WBA/IBF MW Championship...yes he's in his mind, they engage in a round robin championship battle in the middleweight...

They weren't SMW's. They might have fought there at the end of their careers but they weren't SMW's.

For ****'s sake don't bring up that undefeated crap again.The fact that Joe was never defeated doesn't make him invincible.Just because you lack the imagination to visualise a scenario to one that hasn't occurred in reality doesn't mean it can't plausibly occur.This is especially relevant considering the quality of competition he was facing for the large part of his career.

One more thing,I believe Lennox Lewis as brilliant as he was would have serious problems with a great heavyweight in his prime possessing a quality jab and counterpunching skills.

There is no need to take things to the extreme. Nobody said he is invincible. Nobody is ****ing invincible! BUT... he hasn't lost. That's a fact. So how can I, and WHY should I, start imagining scenarios where he could lose? I have absolutely nothing to go on. Again, it COULD just be that he wouldn't lose to anyone who doesn't possess a cruiser or heavyweight punch.

I read these boards every day. And every day someone cries about Joe Calzaghe not getting enough respect. Even though - despite a few knuckleheads - we all acknowledge him to be a great fighter and a HOF'er. The problem arises when people wanna attribute things to him thatare just ludicrous like calling him an ATG, etc. So since that's not you, what's your complaint???
