not saying baldo is great..but he did earn his title in the ring so doesnt that deserve respect????i mean my man cotto is a beast but has never won a belt in the ring against a champ..baldo did though...and im not dowing cotto before i get attacked i like cotto and think he'll be the ww kingpin by years end

You're right. Deevel was sayin Baldomir earned props for winnin the WW title fair n square, he just ain't nothin special. I think that's the right call. And It's the man who makes the belt, not vice versa. Cotto won a vacant title, but he fought nothin but top 10 ranked fighters all thru his WW run so far, so the fact that he didn't actually beat a titleholder to win his strap don't mean **** to me. This thread is all about belts not necessarily definin a true champion.
