if it was refereed properly Floyd wouldn't have had room to breathe and wouldn't have been able to get his shots away. He also would've had points deducted for holding, turning his back, ducking and diving out of the ring.

Although I'm a huge Floyd fan.. They should rather talk about Mayweather-Castillo I than this ****.

Just out of curiosity, how do you respond to popular opinion that Floyd was actually winning the in-fighting?

No one watching that fight can honestly say Cortez did a good or even competent job.

Saying that doesnt imply Hatton had any chance of winning though. It was just awful officiating. End of story.

I think Cortez is garbage and an d*ck to boot, but the fight result doesn't change.

I agree. Im a huge fan of Ricky but I thought he'd get knocked out as soon as I heard the fight was being made.

Firstly i wouldn't say it was a popular opinion and secondly he was only winning the in-fighting in the later rounds when Hatton was no longer in good shape (thanks to Cortez needlessly breaking them up). In the early rounds Hatton was superior inside to the point where Floyd jumped out of the ring.

Of course Cortez allowed in-fighting in the later rounds when he saw Mayweather was getting on top just as he allowed Popkins to hang on to Calzaghe the whole fight. Where were all the break-ups in that fight? non-existent because it favoured the US fighter

btw wtf was the point of a poll on this on a yank boxing forum? the worst thing is you cried like a girl when someone voted or argued the opposite way to what you wanted the poll to turn out like. Sit down stanley.
