I don't think Cortez cost Hatton the fight but that doesn't mean it was fair. Hatton was harshly treated.

Honestly, I think Cortez should not have any big fights for a while. Because he creates excuses. However, I don't think the job he did was awful. I just think his presence is too great of a distraction at this point. Ricky is a professional, it's his job to stay focused. PBF hit him with some excellent shots and Hatton's game plan was relatively one dimensional.

That's possible, but a different Ref wouldn't have changed the result. I don't think it's a good idea entering a fight with a premade excuse. Cortez shouldn't be in any important fights but the result in this one wouldn't have changed.

That is what some people don't understand...... Mayweather dominated whenever the fight was on the inside. Hatton must of been shocked by how good Floyd was in the pocket.

Absolutely he caused Hatton to lose. There were a number of times in the first three rounds where Hatton caught Mayweather with a solid shot to the face and was just about to follow it up only for Cortez to jump in to protect Mayweather and pull Hatton away.

The yanks want to claim it as a great victory but the truth is, it was a fix, a setup and a horrible incidence of boxing corruption from a hometown ref. Ask Ricky Hatton

              Here's how it REALLY went.

Jor Cortez was the referee for the Castillo/Hatton fight. No one complained about his officiating there. That's because he didn't break Hatton and Castillo apart. Why? Because Castillo wasn't able to neutralize Hatton and Hatton was effective in the clinches. He could work, he was actually doing things.

Mayweather wasn't allowing that. If you're working in close quarters, getting things done.. The referee wont break you. Mayweather wasn't allowing Hatton to hold and work. He was pushing him away with his elbows, creating place and when Hatton would hold to try and stop that, the referee is forced to break them apart. It's that simple.

The Hatton win on Floyds resume is tainted as tainted as the first Castillo fight.

Not Floyds fault just Crook Cortez.
