Are you serious? You probably can't even name more than three. Smoger is one of the best refs in the world and Cortez at one time was considered one as well. He may just be getting old or he is biased either way all refs have made career mistakes and yes Joe's were big but they far and few between. Your trolling is pitiful.

I think Steve Smoger and Benjy Esteves are 2 of the most competent and experienced refs out there now. I like a ref who doesn't interject himself too into the action but still exercises control and yet allows fighters to mix it up.
Joe Cortez has been reffing for almost 30 years with over 600 bouts; he may be slipping but percentage wise he's still above average ... recent officiating to the contrary notwithstanding.

Cortez was good in the hatton fight, youre just pissed cuz he didnt let hatton wrestle all night and throw his elbows, get over it, if there is a rematch, Fraud KO's him sooner

You hear that JMM. If he was against Mexicans, he would have declared you KTFO against Pac in the first fight. And NO ONE would have said it was a premature stoppage the way he was beating his ass. Cortez saved your career!

i agree. marquez should have been thankful to cortez for allowing him to fight despite being knocked down thrice against pacman.

he should also be thankful to Cortez for not costing him a point for all the low blows he'd thrown on that fight.

Cortez's performance in the Soto/Lorenzo was great compared to his performance in the Hatton/Floyd fight. If anything, Cortez has something against European fighters. Not Mexicans.

I am just astonished that everyone thinks Cortez had something to do with Hatton getting KTFO by Mayweather! HAHAHAHA! That is HILARIOUS! Hatton would have gotten beat anyway...Maybe it would have went the distance because someone else would have let Hatton hold on for the final 2 rounds!

JMM should just go in there and fight for the Knockout no matter who the Ref is! He is starting to complain a whole lot lately!
