  • Ricky Hatton: "Beating Pacquiao is My Ultimate Goal"

Beating Manny Pacquiao is the ultimate goal for Ricky Hatton. For the last few years, Hatton has become obsessed with beating the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world. He got his first chance in December of 2007, when he met Floyd Mayweather Jr. The fight plan backfired and Mayweather stopped the Manchester superstar in ten rounds. Hatton will get his second chance to challenge the best fighter in the world on May 2, with the MGM Grand playing host in Las Vegas. [details]

    Now that's the right attitude.
Reading what Ricky said really makes me want him to win against Pacquiao
it's his dream... but unfortunately the man standing between Ricky and his dream is the current P4P fighter in the world and is willing to train harder than he did for the Dela Hoya fight.

I wish him the best. But if he ever lose I hope he still fulfill his dreams eventually.

i think the hitman does not get it... when taylor beat hopkins (when hopkins was P4P numero uno) he was elevated into the rankings yes... but not at number 1...

          p4p status

Somebody tell this ugly shark looking overrated son of a ***** that beating Pacquiao does not make u p4p1#. U have to have a consistent body of work to become 1# p4p. Pacquiao became p4p b/c he won fights vs other p4p fighters like morales, marquez, & barerra. U dont skip the line. If (& this is a HUGE ****ING IF) he beats pacquiao, then marquez or calzaghe or hopkins moves up then he moves in the top 10. He needs a couple more fights vs top competition & win. & if marquez loses to diaz & calzaghe hopkins retire, then u become p4p 1#. only then.

its all a moot point. He's gonna get emasculated on may 2. Then he becomes another overrated & BADLY EXPOSED great white hype. Didnt he get exposed already by floyd jr???

          MR. ROPER MR. ROPER!!!!!!!

He's already in the top 10 ******, and how the **** can he have been exposed when he was expected to lose against Mayweather and is the underdog against Pacquiao.

Being P4P means you would able to **** in other classes. Ricky aint going anywhere near Welter again, THATS FOR DAMN SURE.

LWW dont have elite competition to even credit Hatton as a dominate P4P. Who doesnt want a crack at the Pacman and take his status. I seriously think Hatton's ultimate goal is a rematch with Mayweather and he will be overlooking Pacquiao. Mayweather is that thorn in Hattons spine and Hatton needs to seriously get over it.

I totally see Pacquiao outboxing, out punching, out manuevering Hatton.

I disagree, it means in a completely hypothetical world in which every fighter could be magicked to the same weight as each other and keep their existing relative power and skills, who would beat who.

Hagler was an all time great middleweight and P4P no. 1 at one time, but only ever fought at one weight.

P4P means your able to **** in any weight class if your were subject to it. Thats what I was talking about. I know what Pound 4 Pound means and Hatton doesnt have the skill or power to be a dominate P4P.
