I think most of the fighters the thread starter mentioned beat Floyd. I could be wrong though because we have never seen Floyd fight those types of greats. Sadly, even if Floyd came back and beat Cotto, Margarito and Pac we still would not have seen him deal with the caliber fighters mentioned in this thread. I still would pick SRL, Pryor, and hearns to most likely win but i don't know about Duran. The Sweet pea fight is also a difficult one to call IMO.

he could beat robinson, Robinson is vulnerable to a slick fighter with defense. Robinson had crazy power in both hands, but if u dont get hit with it...what good is it? Don't get me wrong though, SRR is the greatest!

At 147 he doesn't stand a snowballs chance in hell. Robinson wasn't unfocused like Zab. He wasn't slow of hand and foot like Baldomir. Wasn't a shell of himself that had been ko'd by Stevie Johnson and Leavander Johnson in his prime like Mitchell. Robinson wouldn't smother his own punches like Hatton. Sugar was fast, both of hand and foot. He was slick, threw terrific combonations, had great stamina and hit harder than ANYBODY Floyd has ever faced. Just how do you figure he is gonna beat Robinson?

Well said. In my mind, it's a laundry list. In addition to Pryor there's SRL, Hearns, Duran, Whitaker, JCC, Wilfredo Benitez, etc...A prime DLH would have given a much better acct of himself and it was a close fight as it was. Many questions remain regarding Floyd's legacy.

All of those and more that I've forgotten would have to be considered as possibilities or even probable unless and until PBF comes out of retirement and beats some more good to great fighters such as Mosely, Clottey, Cotto, Pacquiao. Not sayin' he couldn't beat all of them, but he has to actually do it, to claim it, imo.

I'm a huge Floyd fan but Zab Judah was giving Floyd the business and knocked him down in their fight during the first 5 rounds. If Zab can do that there is no question in my mind that not only is Floyd beatable matched up to past greats, he is also beatable with some of today's elites; like Paul Williams, Mosley, and Cotto

The problem in arguing about this is nothing Floyd could do would really prove he could hang with the names mentioned. Not to say that its not a possibility that he could but there are not too many fights out there to make anyone think he would beat any of the guys mentioned. Every guy thats 147lbs or below right now would be an underdog against Floyd so winning would just be doing what he is supposed to. As I said before I picked most of the guys mentioned to beat Floyd but thats without seeing Floyd in there with that caliber of fighter.

I think almost every thread ever made on this site is about people posting their opinions.

We can say who the winner would be, we just wouldnt ever know for a fact.
