And he said Pacquiao hit harder. The fighter is a welterweight prospect named Said El Harrak, 3-0 (1 KO) and trained by Eddie Mustafa Muhammad. He's fighting in a 4-rounder on the Nate Campbell-Ali Funeka card. Here is what he had to say.
"Pacquiao by far. Someone asked me at the Margarito camp and I said Pacquiao because speed develops power. Pacquiao is much faster. Margarito can punch but he's very slow. If he brought more speed with it, the impact would be harder than a Pacquiao punch.
"Pacquiao's punch comes so fast and so precise, it's amazing. He hit me the hardest I've ever been hit and I've been in the ring with cruiserweights."

I hope your right, a truly competitve superfight would be great for boxing. It'd also put a further feather in cap of both fighters (specifically Hatton)
Hatton has looked bad against a few good Southpaws he's faced. Eamon Magee, dropped him and was really turning up the heat against Hatton in the early rounds, but kind of shot his bolt. Collazo also done very well against Hatton and if he could punch a fraction harder that fight would have read TKO12, regardless of the decision.
I though Hatton's jab won him the fight against Malignaggi, but like you say. Old habits die hard: Hatton's jab will be back at home shut away in a wardrobe against Pacman - because he won't have the natural inclination to use it against a guy who pranging him with snappy punches. The red-mist will come down as it always does with Hatton and I see him getting smashed. I hope not though. I don't really like Hatton that much but we need a competive superfight.
Hatton outjabbed the master jabber Malignaggi but he had nothing to worry with Malignaggi because he barely threw back. When he did, he connected flush because Hatton is just to square. If you hit Hatton, he stops dead in his tracks because of how square he is.
I hope the fight is competitive because I'm contemplating making the trip and I'm not trying to watch a bunch of prospect mismatches and a three-round slaughter.Comment

rashad holloway was pacquiaos main sparring partner for the dlh fight and sparred him for weeks...........he was pulled out of the margarito camp(for mosley) after getting his face smashed(i think a broken facial bone, im not sure) by tony in a single sparring session and had to cancel his next fight................Comment

I agree, it's a shame that Malignaggi's hands just can't withstand the force of punching somebody with 10 oz gloves on. Malignaggi is the classic case of a gun-shy fighter. If he had enough power to keep people off of him, he might still be undefeated.
Personally, I think Malignaggi has gotten as far as he could with his hands being as brittle as they are. I wouldn't want to see him get beat up in this sport. Maybe a few farewell fights should be in order, or if he'd be content keeping it on the local scene in NY, that'd be much sounder.
