I hope you're right.

But I'm scratching my head to remember a round where Wlad was outboxed. He is a brilliant boxer, and master of mid and long distance fighting. Haye is a very relaxed fighter but Wlad dictates the tempo of every fight with that jab- not exciting but effective.

I like Haye. But in my mind, any success he is relies on him consistantly hurting big Wlad.

He lost 3 rounds to Brock and at least 3 rounds against Thompson.

You mean there were three close rounds against Brock, and three close rounds against Thompson. I recall only one round against Brock that Wlad clearly lost.

He dominated the other rounds in both fights and brutally KOed them both.

Wladimir has a great jab but is by no means a brilliant boxer. His size, coupled with his technique (the one Manny teaches all his big, long fighters) makes him very effective however. He still isn't a very fluid combination or counter-puncher - not until his confidence is soaring anyway.

I agree, the key to beating him is to negate his brilliant jab. If it's true that Lewis will spar with Haye, that should help him in that respect, albeit Lewis won't be as fast as he used to be, or have the reactions he used to have.

I agree he needs to hurt Wlad, but I think he needs to do it by countering his jab, and then getting inside, not by trying to make it a tear up.

David haye is fast & has power but monte Barrett is his only win at hw.barrett is a solid gatekeeper & I think beating him puts him in the top 15.Barrett floored him & monte is not a huge puncher.wlad has a suspect chin but Emmanuel steward has done a great job with him.I think haye should fight a few top 10 guys first like Sam peter or mccline.at least someone who can punch hard.let's see how his chin holds up.he's never been hit by a 250lbs man .I think either klitschko would take him out in 3 or 4 rounds.I'd like to see him fight James toney.a solid,durable,old school boxer with good defence & chin.he needs seasoning against better heavyweights.

I'll get up at 0-dark-thirty to watch Dr. Steel Hammer put the much anticipated, vicious, beat-down on the pretender. Might have a Bloody Mary instead of a glass of bourbon , but that's about the only difference it makes to me.
