Larry Holmes Tex Cobb was the most one sided heavyweight fight in history according to some.
I was rooting for Cobb

Because Cobb took such a beating in this fight, Howard Cosell quit covering boxing. "The Cobb fight did it for me," Cosell said. "I don't want to be a party to the sleaziness." In response, Cobb said, "If I eliminate heart disease, if I walk on water, if I come up with a cure for crippled kids, I can't imagine a greater gift to mankind."Comment

51 punches landed in 8 rounds. 51/8 = 6.325 punches per round.
108 in 12. 108/12 = 9 punches per round.
No punchstats for that fight. A judge gave Cobb one round, so I guess he did at least okay in one round? I don't know, it might be the record holder. If anyone has punch stats, I'd be interested to know.Larry Holmes Tex Cobb was the most one sided heavyweight fight in history according to some.

The only ones I can think of off the top of my head are Hopkins vs. Frank and Pavlik vs. Hernandez (I think, some awful Puerto Rican who won less than 10% of his fights). I mean, those are the winners, but ones that go rounds are the more interesting ones to look at. I didn't realize how much more dominant Martinez-Bunema was until this thread had hashed out a few other examples, and it beat all of them.
If anyone can beat Martinez-Bunema with a fight that actually went a few rounds, I'd be really interested to hear it.Comment
