Don't be daft - if someone agrees to a contract with you and then reneges on it, why would you budge? That's bad business.
Well, goodluck to Hatton, but I don't think barely beating the Lazcano's and the Collazo's of his division would earn him the legacy he wants. I doubt if Mayweather or Dela Hoya would agree to a 50/50 split with Hatton.
Verbal agreements don't mean anything, especially when it was made behind Pacquiao's back. until a signature is on paper, it means nothing.
A verbal contract is as legally binding as a written one provided you can prove it was made, there's plenty of case law to prove that. And Arum says that Pacquiao did agree to the deal, and also says that Pacquiao gave him full authorisation to negotiate the deal.

It's not gonna happen, Dave. No one will try to bind Pac to a verbal agreement.

Mayweather got 0% of the UK PPV and 50% of everything else. Pacquiao has been offered a far better deal than Mayweather got.

I know - but I think Pacquiao is an idiot, putting his promoter in such a bad position, refusing to return his trainer's calls - he is shooting himself in the foot big time.
Hatton is pricing himself out. Pacman is the bigger name. Enough said. Hatton will regret this cause he isn't a nobody compare to Pacman.
Pacman defeated DE LA HOYA! The other big name in boxing, regardless of his age, people KNOW who De La Hoya is, and lost to the smaller fighter in Pacman.
Hatton was defeated by the self-proclaimed P4P fighter in Mayweather, and defeated a already defeated fighter in Paulie.
My point is? Pacman should get the higher bid. Enough said.. Who are you going to fight now Mr Hatton? Go back down to 140 and find a bigger fight rather than lose a slight margin on your split.
If he was confident enough he would take the fight regardless. He is pricing himself out! Maybe if Hatton wins this fight then he can call demands, but as of now.... I don't think so.
Do you think Pacman worth 50-50? It's disrespectful...
Oh please.. Pacman is the face of boxing right now.. he earned it in a hard way..
If I'am Pacman why would I allow a 50-50 share when I'm on the top of the world right now. Ricky Hatton is nowhere near Pacman's accomplishment.
Manny wouldn't want to be screwed again in purse this time since he is now on top.
So he'd rather earn $3 million against a Marquez or Valero, rather than $20 million against Hatton, just so long as the $3 million represents more than 50% of the pot? And in the process he's happy to mess his trainer and his promoter around? And he claims he wants to give boxing fans the fights they want to see, then he pulls out of the fight almost every boxing fan wants to see, just over the percentage of the biggest purse by far he's ever been offered? And since when is earning $20 million rather than $3 milion being screwed? Get some perspective.
Actually he has been the #1 Jnr Welterweight for more than 5 years, which is pretty elite. And he is the #10 P4P at the moment, and has been ranked even higher in the past. So you're just ridiculously biased.
Again, who has Hatton beaten? Collazo who recently lost to Andre Berto? Or an old and faded Jose Luis Castillo? Juan Lazcano whom he beat by a boring 12 rounds UD? The only HOF material fighter he has ever beaten was Kostya Tszyu nothing more nothing less. Now he acts as if he is PBF?
Hatton is overrated and that is a fact. He got into the ring with PBF to collect his paycheck that's why he got KO'ed as if he was a 9-yr old grandchild being mauled by a WWE superstar lolz

When Mosley beat DLH, he thought he'd be able to earn DLH-type purses. He was very wrong - it didn't really increase his earning power at all, and he priced himself out of some fights before he came to terms with that fact. Beating the biggest earner does not make you the biggest earner. He'll discover that the hard way if he lets this fall through.

Better than a friggin' Anglo making him look like a slave to money.
