I think Pacman is in a better position on the negotiating table because if this deal flops, he have more better opponent to face out there from Margarito down to Marquez and any of these fights will be explosive and money drawers from US to UK. And Hatton, well always be loved by the Brits and might be ends up fighting another star in Europe.

But I belive that this Pacquiao-Hatton fights would be salvage, its just a matter of time that Hatton camp will accept the 55-45 proposition by Pacquiao camp. It will settle soon.. just watch their dramas on how this deal works!

People keep on saying that Peso Pacquiao is in a better situation if he doesn't take this fight than Hatton. Does anyone actually realise that fighting Hatton will make you more money than fighting Pacquiao? Any lightweight, Jr WW or WW would go for the Hatton fight over the Pac fight if they were offered both right now. You know why?

Peso Pacquiao is probably considered a harder fight at the moment after his beat-down of Oscar whereas Hatton's loss to Floyd is still fresh in everyone's minds. The thing is Hatton is still one of the biggest names, if not the biggest right now, and will be a massive win for anyone. He will also make whoever fights him a lot more than Pacquiao would.

If someone was offered 45-50% of a Hatton fight they would be getting more than double the amount that a Pacquiao fight, and his offering of 40% or less, would give them. So, Hatton is probably seen as slightly less of a threat, just as big a name as Pac, though without the P4P status, and a ****eload more money in the deal than a fight with Peso Pacquiao.

Peso is not going to be fighting any other welterweights for those that think he is. Margarito is already out of bounds. Roach has already said there is simply now way they will take that fight. Berto, while a champion, is green and wouldn't bring anything to the fight. How much would they get? 1 to 2 million each? Clottey woud kill him as would Cotto and Williams.

Hatton is the man at 140 and the only fight worth having there. It's also by far the biggest fight, financially and legacy-wise. At lightweight there are any number of good fights, but who will he go up against? Everyone is taken for quite a long time at the moment. Marquez with Diaz, Campbell with Funeka and they have settled a tentative deal that Marquez and Campbell will fight if each guy wins. Where does that leave Peso Pacquiao? He is ruining the biggest fight for himself in every way. Hattons has more opportunities, especially as it's Peso Pacquiao that is being so insistent on getting the higher %. If he is like that against Hatton for the biggest Pay of his career, what will he be like against a smaller name for a quarter of the pay? Will he insist on 70-75%? What other big name would go for less than 40%? Anyone I can think of would take Hatton over Peso. Ten times the cash, ten times the exposure and a much lower risk/reward.
