  • Am I the only person that thinks if they took 50-50 then it would give the sport some much needed kudos?

    • Pacman has to understand that there is a difference between beating the biggest draw, and becoming the biggest draw. It was a lesson Floyd learned. Even after he defeated DLH, he knew the biggest $ was still a rematch with Oscar. Pacquiao may be p4p the best, but he isn't $4$ to biggest draw. If the fight doesn't get made... AND Floyd stays out of the picture, I can promise you Hatton will make more with his next fight than Manny will.

          • heres how i read it....shortly after dlh manny stated he would like to take an extended break approx 6 or so months. almost immediately mr arum announced may 2nd with either hatton or mayweather and freddie states that he wants pacman back training within a couple of months and keep the momentum. both promoter and trainer have seemingly ignored the fighters feelings and wishes...its reported that even freddie cant contact him so i submit to you all that pacman is actually AWOL and pissed off that management have gone ahead and shoved him straight into the next superfight. jinkee wouldve had their baby bout now and i believe manny wants time with his family without the pressure of a fight.

this scenario fits more than the one that so many of you are screaming about! you ******s are quick to judge a man and assume that his actions are driven by money and greed...well how about we remember the absolute poverty of manny's background and in contrast his well known generosity, infact freddie roach said he is afraid that manny is going to give away his fortune. i submit to you that most of you reading this are superficial and flippant *fight fans* heralding a fighter one second and trying to cut his throat the next.

sorry bro... U won't be able to save faace for floyd w/ that one. It's acceptable for fighters to walk away from a payday or so b/c of maoney. But ur boy $Maweahter hasn't fought any credible ww besides judah....(& judging by his record @ welter he's not credible) He was very good below 47 but that's it.

I don't like how Pacquiao is demanding more than a 50/50 split, just because he beat Oscar De La Hoya. Oscar De La Hoya was the biggest draw in boxing, however that doesn't mean that if you beat him your given that power. It doesn't work that way. Hatton has been in the game for a long time. And has fought his fair share of great fighters. Also, it was said by both promoters that a 50/50 split was agreed upon before all kinks were going to be worked out in the contract.
The interesting thing is the position Manny has put himself in. He's banking on a Mayweather return. But Even if Floyd returns. Whut makes manny think floyd will allow him to take the lion's share in any way shape or form. Floyd will say he's undefeated. He beat DLH too. So where does that leave manny then. Manny is really the one w/ fewer options...Every big opponent is tied up or retired. Unless he wants to fight berto. Who would smash him with his speed & size. Maybe MAnny could fight Judah. But nobody really wants to see it.

but when hatton does it completely different story.

Am i the only one who thought hatton looked a little nervous at ringside after pac beat oscar?
yes u are. HAtton has fought true welters already & the best in the world in floyd. Y would he be afraid of a junior lightweight...

If that's the case y not go into semi-retirement like floyd rather than posture for more money.... & then say ur gonna fight valero in stead of ricky..... where's the honor in that. I think this is more about feeling 2nd class for manny. I think he feels people in the world look down on him as a filipino & try to take advantage of him I think he feels like he owes it o himself & his people to not be pushed around. Why else would he say "to accept less than 60/40 would be to degrade myself. But now that he''s taken this stance. He has no choice but to walk away from it. He painted himself into acorner w/ this one.
