Is Hatton elite or a B class fighter ?

I think you can reign in a division and still not be an elite fighter. I dont view Chris Eubank as an elite fighter, but he was a very very good fighter/ champion, but to be elite you have to have that something extra imo.

The real Superstars of Boxing are the elite and i dont think Hatton is in that bracket.

    Jones jr ,Toney,Calzaghe,Whitaker,Lewis,Holyfield,Mosley,JC C,Pacquiao,Barrera, Morales,Trinidad,DLH,...... etc etc

Some people would say he can't possibly be an elite fighter because he's white.

I say race shouldn't make any difference. His record speaks for itself.

Hatton is world class, but not really elite. I'd say he's more of an A- than a B.

            I would say the same.

He is in the same catergory as someone like Joel Casamayor. Casamayor is very talented fighter, but his inconsistency means he falls short of elite imo. Hatton is far less talented than Casa, but he is consistent, but his best wins are against past prime fighters.

On balance i make him a B class fighter. B Class is still very very good just not elite though.

Hatton is one of the best boxers to come out of Britain and a discussion about 140lbs is not complete without him.

He can perform, but the moment he stops overwhelming his guy is when he's vulnerable. His chin and stamina and defense is pretty bad. Him and Paq actually share some similarities, both have issues with smart fast handed fighters and both of their biggest wins we're against older guys with big names.

Now is he an elite fighter? I don't think so. A fight with the smaller Paq is still a toss up fight lol. If Hatton was elite while bein this much bigger than Paq (A: Paq wouldn't be fighting him lmao), I think the general perception of the fight would be in Hatton's favor, when it's really just a toss up fight. So nah I don't think he's elite. If your elite at 140 someone like Paq shouldn't be able to f#$% with you. You'd be too strong and fast for the smaller Paq. But in this case of these two fighting, Paq is probably faster and might have a better chin. I mean since Hatton came out west he's been gettin rocked by alot of guys he would have plowed through if he was elite.
