As far as boxing ability goes, the only recent Filipino fighters I have noticed with exceptional boxing ability have been Gerry Penalosa, Pacquiao and Nonito Donaire. The others have been more like brawler types.

I saw a couple of Penalosa fights (de leon and gonzalez) and to say he has boxing "ability" is hilarious, how can he not beat a one-dimensional fighter if he had any "boxing ability"? And the Gonzalez fight, wasnt he being shutout before the body punch?

Leonard ducked Pryor like a little *****, throughout his entire career.

        Agree or disagree?

          Xcaret,

If Penalosa doesn't have any boxing ability, they why did deleon ran around like a lil b*tch against the smaller and OLD Penalosa.

"Aaron Pryor wants to get into the ring with me. He wants to be able to retire, and he will. For health reasons. "

Pryor did everything he possibly could to get Leonard in the ring, and Ray alawys blew him off.

I'm not saying Ray was afraid of Aaron, I really don't know. But the way he always blew him off kind of implied it.

There always seemed to me, that there was more to it than a simple case of guys who unfortunately never fought.

Probably cause he made more money with Hearns and Hagler.

                  Duran too.

Thats an old penalosa you saw yet he still bagged a world title. Gerry's prime was in the 90's.
