Nonito Donaire(he decapitated a guy that decapitated the "world class" Mijares) & Gerry Penalosa, he maybe ancient but he did dethrone that so-called "world-class Mexican".

World-Class to me is totally different from being part of an elite class of pros. For example, Some might find it funny but I consider Brian Viloria world-class, he was an olympian and won a world title.

As far as Philippine amateur boxing is concerned, Amateur scoring today just doesn't favor the shorter fighters. Same goes for Meheeco, considered a boxing powerhouse in the lower divisions of pro boxing, but **** in the amateurs.

Donaire beating Darchinyan was ace. I hated that ***** Vic and cheered for Nonito, but it was a perfect shot. Nonito has done nothing since then to even try to fight some of the better guys out there.

He always mentions Pacquiao in his interviews as being an inspiration to him, yet I don't see him taking on the guys on the level that Manny took on. That said, Nonito is a nice kid, who I want to see step up.

And Penalosa I have a lot of respect for. The Gonzalez win was a shocker from hell. But that said, your boy is going to turn into a pile of dirt when Juan Manuel Lopez connects on him flush. Lopez packs the punch of a guy twice his size.

I say Penalosa is the closet guy to being recognized as an elite fighter like Manny, from the Philippines. But he's a long way away from that kind of accomplishment, and his career is almost over.

Montiel vs Donaire was a done deal. Montiel back out because of that bull**** weight thing cowardness. Top Rank made the offer to Arce but he back out and face Darchinyan instead. Gary Shaw said he will never pit Darchinyan against Donaire again.

Why rush when Donaire is only 25 years old? It seems that everyone don't want any of him.

Nonito did step up, but Montiel bailed because he doesn't think he could make the weight. Haven't you been keeping up with the boxing news?

The fight looked like it was gonna be made and Montiel said he couldn't make the weight anymore.

They are ducking Nonito, Montiel already chickened out. Mijares almost went for it when Nonito was inactive, but was smart enough to realize Nonito would bust him up.
