Why rush when Donaire is only 25 years old? It seems that everyone don't want any of him.
No, I missed the entire Montiel fiasco. I was overrun with work and my personal life at the time. I figured Vic would never fight him again though, that **** was embarassing. The "raging bull" got neutered on live tv.

I would've felt bad for Vic, if he wasn't a complete **** about it both before and afterwards.

(His site didn't even mention the loss! )

Yeah phils has Donaire, Penalosa, Concepcion, Nietes, a lot of guys for starters
but i never hear guys like batawang, etc getting much play on here. it's just pac pac pac.

Pac is the perfect person for this since everybody in the PI loves him to death so he will be a great inspiration for the next generation.

I am sure they will bring up some talented guys who never even entertained boxing until they saw Pac's fame.

And one of them will probably be a champ.

          Donnie Nietes too.

If it is one thing that bothers me about phils, is all the focus is on pAC and they have a lot of other really good guys- but i guess pac is top of the heap so that's somewhat understandable.

Pac is not just at the top of the heap, he's rewriting Filipino boxing history, fight by fight. He's teaching class while everybody else is sharing crib notes.

              Nietes is Ok.
You should check out Milan Milendo.
He's a very skilled prospect. . It's just that he fights in the minimumweight division.

Sure but Donaire is a champ, Nietes is a champ. They barely give them any love on here.

Just saying. and the phils guy who lost to sosa came from high odds and a not great record to be in a championship fight.

I understand though Pac is the top. Just wish some of them were more well-rounded...of course i wish that about every fan cuz i like to learn stuff too not always debate **** we already know.

Boxingscene is not the place to "learn stuff" about boxing, as you already know. It's the place to beat a dead horse a thousand times over again while checking out all the constantly changing avatars of hot birds with nice asses.

There are probably thousands and thousands of 8 year old kids in the gyms training right now, hoping they can follow in Manny's footsteps.

And id be shocked if nobody could at least fill some of that void.

Trying to succeed PAC is a very tall order. It just puts so much pressure on the would be oncoming prospect(s) from Phils, its unfair, really.

Even if a d&mn good champ from Phils were to come up and be rated as a Top 10 P4Per, would the fighter be looked down on because he couldn't matchup with the PAC dynasty?

Lets take Mexico for example, in my opinion Erik and MAB I don't consider to be in Chavez's level, even though they've had great careers.

One thing I never understood during the 90's is how in the world was Luisito Espinosa's stature had more weight than that of Gerry's. In my opinion, Gerry was atleast 1 1/2 level or more above Luisito.
