Personally I would be satisfied with 1 point for either fighter. There were some rounds that were VERY close, like Reed said, 1 punch from either guy could have changed the scoring.

Over all though, I would rather be Luis Collazo when all is said and done. The rounds he did win, he won HUGE.

There were several points in the fight when Berto looked like he was on the verge of going down from accumulation. He buzzed Berto pretty good a few times, and he outworked him.

Scoring wise, I have no problem with a Berto win, but this is the kind of fight that shows the problems with the scoring system. Berto definitely ate the harder punches, got the worse of the exchanges, and was the recipient of a general beat down... but, he did win rounds and he did keep it close.

I have no problems with the 114-113 scores but 116-111 is absolutely ridiculous.

This fight was good for Berto (providing he didn't leave too much in the ring) as he will go back to the gym and improve and what he did wrong. Hes a fresh young fighter, this fight was probably a little early in his career, but it really goes to show that he can survive when he is thrown in over his head.

As I have always said, southpaws are kryptonite to philly shell fighters. Mayweather had Corley, Toney had Nunn, Holyfield had Moorer, now Berto had Collazo.

Preperations in the gym just don't prepare your for the clash in styles. Just because you can fight inside against an orthodox fighter doesn't mean you can fight inside against a southpaw. Berto learned that today.

Id also like to comment on Collazos use of the head. He was being very sneaky, not exactly illegal, but very crafty use of the head on the inside. He was using back side of his head behind his ear to push Berto's head around side to side in the clenches. It made Berto tense, and it made him hold his breath. This contributed a great deal to Berto looking gassed in the first half of the fight. Collazo's subtle little trickery was preventing Berto from breathing properly.

Berto had never been in a fight like that. Now he has. He will do better in a rematch, and he will continue to improve as a fighter especially against southpaws.

Id like to see him rematch Collazo if for nothing else, to force him to work on the flaws he has against southpaws.

berto won the fight according to the judges, which includes 1 judge that scored it 116 to 111 for berto, id hate to be in the side of that crazy blind ref cause that ref doesnt know how to score fights, 18 lames agree with that crazy blind refat least i scored it right while the berto fans were all drunk and wasted ,so much to mess up their vision of what was happening,

i wouldnt also be siding with berto winning the fight cause flawless had berto winning the fight, a crazy 116 to 112 ref had it for berto, who wants to be siding with flawless and the drunk judge, not me

I had it 114-113 for Collazo, the point deduction won the fight for Collazo IMO, got to hand it to Berto though, he ended the fight like a champion. I have no problem with 114-113 Berto but 116-111 was ridiculous. Great fight, great effort from both fighters.

I was very impressed by both fighters in this fight. I think the judges made the right call by giving it to Berto (besides the one lopsided judge). I would've ruled it a draw but Berto landed the more meaningful & harder shots. We need more fighters like these two who aren't afraid to mix it up and trade.
That's how we attract more of the "bloodthirsty, A.D.D. fans," and get boxing back on the mainstage.
