I disagree. Particularly on the point that any of them won either of the fights by any big margin. All three were very competitive, and actually picked Woods in two of them.

Triangular theory maybe, but I have grave difficulty buying the theory that someone who got bested by Clinton Woods, Sheika and Ottke would beat Calzaghe.

You forgot the bastion's of Supermiddleweight Silvano Branco, Syd Vanderpool, Joe Kiwanuka and Merqui Sosa.

To be fair Sosa isn't bad.

The Sheika and Ottke fights were when Johnson was more of a boxer than a pressure fight, and i had the 2nd Johnson woods fight clearly for Johnson and almost everyone had the first fight for Johnson but it was fairly close and the 3rd fight was again close with most people backing Johnson over Woods.
I am sure people said the same thing when Johnson had his fights with Tarver, Jones and Dawson.

I don’t know why your all bringing these early Johnson fights up. I will say this again Johnson had a different style in those days.

And just for the record Glen Johnson was **** at Supermiddle weight.

                11 fights 5 wins 6 losses.
Doesn't matter because the fight was supposed to be at light heavyweight for Johnson's IBF title.

It wouldn't have been an important fight at SMW when Johnson was in a career slump and lost decision after decision but the 2004 fight was a missed opportunity for Calzaghe. Maybe he could've been the one to fight Jones and Tarver instead of Johnson if he had beaten Glen... Imagine that.

Hammer, you shouldn't speak on fights you never watched. It shows.

this has been done to death - calzaghe got injured and pulled out, johnson was the only fighter with a bit of balls who was willing to face him. johnson then went on to defeat RJJ so its not as though he lost out bigtime, he moved on o bigger things, maybe the threadstarter should as well.

I'll remind you of that next time you say Calzaghe is a slapper.
