Because he was afraid that he would get ktf out like your idol did, and he doesn't have a rabid fan base back then to make excuses on why he was ko'd like your idol does.

And just for the record Glen Johnson was **** at Supermiddle weight.

      11 fights 5 wins 6 losses.
Ermm I think calzaghe actually agreed to move up and fight for the light heavy belt johnson had.

      Calzaghe said

"At the new weight I will retain my hand speed and won't have to drain myself over the last two weeks. I just can't wait for 5 June."
Then I think he pulled out.

Well in his defense a lot of fighters face "bums" early on. The problem that people have with Calzaghe is he stayed at home for 10+ years fighting bums before "starting" his career. Which is easily put...

He fought the over hyped Lacy (to make a name for himself in the states), Kessler (his BEST win to date), Manfredo (???????????), Hopkins (ugly fight but he got a SD with a top legit LHW), Jones of 2008 (retirement fund).......

That is his career in a nut shell. You can add Old man Eubank in there as that was for his WBO belt. Eubank went on to never win another fight after that.

But hey he's undefeated right....... its all good not hate.

Two undefeated fighters, calzaghe and floyd, two 0's and two averageish cv's. Simple really.

After Calzaghe fired Warren, Warren revealed alot about Joe.

Especially his trendency to want to pull out of fights all the time..

"No show Joe" is apparently what showtime used to call him.

You know robin reid called him out for ages on BBC for a rematch, calzaghe wouldnt give him one, instead choosing to take on the legends he would later become famous for fighting.
