I agree with the original poster, and just to let everyone know I still wouldn't pick Tony over Tito, because styles make fights.

So... Cotto>Tito UD (but both guys a little busted up)
.... Tito>Tony (TKO Tito snaps his head back too much)
....... Tony>Cotto (We saw how it went down)

I think it's closer than some think. See say what you will about Cotto's defense, his style of defense and his movement really keeps him away from left hooks. Think about how often you see Cotto getting caught by left hooks. The only one to really do it was Torres, and that's cause he just blindly threw a barrage, Tito doesn't throw punches like that.

Cotto stands a good chance of using his jab and moving around without getting caught by Tito's left. But if Tito does catch him, it's curtains.

Marg has good but not great power. He beats guys down over time. Felix was a killer at 147 and woulda taken Cotto out much earlier.

I'll agree with you all that Tito was knocking fools out at 147. But who did he beat during his reign at Welter that even comes close the Cotto in terms of overall skill and ability??? Oscar boxed the socks off Tito; busted his nose up and made him look amateurish. Tito couldn't stop Whitaker or Camacho who were way past thier primes and much smaller than Tito. Cotto would outclass Tito.

Agreed Cotto that night would have beat Tito or Mayweather. He boxed well and the punches were flowing. Styles make fights and that night Cotto would have beat almost anyone except Margarito!

Cotto would try to fight Tito like Vargas did. Vargas was trying to "Out-Mexican" Oscar De La Hoya when he fought Tito. He boldly stated that he would stand in front of Tito and not run like Oscar did. Dumb on his part. Cotto would fight him much smarter. So no, it probably wouldn't turn out that way.

Why does everyone overrate tito after his gift decision win over oscar, that one dude on this website has a tito gif image where tito looks extremly shocked that the judges even gave him the fight and he starts crying like a little baby.

I really believe tito even felt like he lost, the judges screwed oscar over because Oscar cheated the public by basically running around the ring the last 4 rounds. So the judges said **** you Oscar, and gave that **** to tito.
