This is similar to the way I see it.See thing about Tito is that Tito did'nt fight well against very good boxers,he may have been 1 of the hardest punching welterweights ever,but if u boxed him well,he fought like a deer in headlights.Plus his chin is suspect!Margarito on the other hand,has a chin of iron.If Cotto performed the way he did against Margarito,Tito may not have had the chance to land a power punch!!

As stated Cotto is a better boxer than the fighters you've mentioned.

The only reason Cotto landed those kind of shots is because Marg was protecting his body more than his head, hence why Cotto never threw any body shots and had all shots to Margs head.

He also has no head movement

The debate is that Cotto's performance is being called overrated when in fact he fought a great fight and landed shots neither of those guys landed on Margarito consistently throughout the fight or as flush.

Kinda like asking if Rafael Marquez's performance is overrated being that's the way Izzy fights anyway?

That's exactly the point I'm trying to make. There is no doubt that Tito hits harder than Margarito. But his output and pressure is not that of Margarito's. Cotto's speed, movement and considerable power would give Tito the same problems that were presented to him in the Oscar fight. I think the Cotto that fought Mosley and Margarito would have outperformed Oscar in a fight against Tito (1999 Welter version).

I agree with the original poster, and just to let everyone know I still wouldn't pick Tony over Tito, because styles make fights.

So... Cotto>Tito UD (but both guys a little busted up)
.... Tito>Tony (TKO Tito snaps his head back too much)
....... Tony>Cotto (We saw how it went down)
