you can't be serious about this. Cotto is a really good fighter but no way he beats prime Tito. I'm pretty sure this is just a bait thread cuz you can't be serious about this. Ridiculous.

I think Cotto took more out of Margarito then some on here realize. Margarito took a **** ton of punishment in that fight.
Cotto would have gotten knocked the **** out by a left hook by Tito in the 7th round, though. I've seen it in my dreams. Tito was that good at WW.

I think putting Cotto and Margarito on a higher pedestal than De La Hoya and Trinidad is definitely overdoing it. Cotto vs Tito is a weird style matchup, but Tito had a scary punch and Cotto really doesnt have amazing D.
Tito and Oscar, prime for prime, both whip Margarito. De La Hoya gets a clear decisions, Tito either stops him or gets a decision and causes a lot of brain damage.

Also Tito had his great winning streak come to an end, people saw him hit his ceiling. That hasnt happened yet with Tony, so people dont have the hindsight point of view.
Tony is gonna hit his ceiling, too, probably sooner than later. After that we can compare their careers, but right now its tough to do.

Tito couldn't even stop past their prime former lightweights, Whitaker or Camacho. Those two along with Oscar were the only two on Tito's resume that are on Cotto's level in terms of skill and ability. Everyone else he fought at Welter were B level or worse fighters. Tito has power, but that's the reason he's got so many KO's at 147 not to mention his loaded gloves.

Thats because Camacho and Whitaker were on their heels and surviving the whole fight. Tito still knocked down Sweet Pea twice and Camacho still hasnt gotten knocked out, not even in the middleweight division at 46 years old.

Margarito doesnt fight going back so Tito would stop him ala Campas. Margarito probably would get knocked out standing.

Tito would tee off on Margarito and slip punches on the inside. This fight could still be made today and I would think it would be in the running for fight of the year. I still think Tito wins by a brutal KO. Tony may even cach Tito with a nice little upper cut and knock him down. But In the end Titos power would win if they signed to fight today. Prime Tito in 5 rounds. Now Tito in 8 rounds.

Cotto would be done as soon as Tito landed a punch. Cotto is smaller than shane. by 2 inches. Tito is much bigger than shane and cotto would get man handled by the blocked punches. Tito was moving 170lb Roy Jones's body around with those body shots. Cotto would be agonizing with every shot blocked or not.

Tito became a middleweight champ, these guys are good at 147 but they can't go any higher and be near the same fighter.

Tito would put both of these guys down today, screw a prime, they should make that money and make those fights and regardless of what you wanna say about someone being fat or washed up, I'll bet its one of the best fights of the year.

This ain't about Tony vs Tito. It's about Cotto vs Tito. If Cotto hit Tito with the shots that he hit Tony with he'd probably win the fight. Just watch the Oscar fight. The Cotto that faced Margarito would've done better than Oscar did that night. He'd make Tito look one dimensional, just like Oscar did.
