Which against a 43 year old guy is pretty lame.

Fact is, Calzaghe also had a very close SD against Reid. Yet refused him a rematch.

Calzaghe however faced a mediocre fighter called "Veit".

Won by TKO Round 1, and was more then happy to face him in a rematch.

Face it, Joe has Fraud written all over him.
Nice rant but your flat out wrong a lot of it so I'll correct you. Your clearly fairly un educated and ignorant on the topics you speak of.

There's often varying opinions but that's why we have judges, and it was pretty clear in Calzaghe winning when you look at the scores, and the majority around the sport agree. The Hopkins being 43 excuse is lame considering he's THE best American fighter right now, just dominated a p4p guy in highly thought of Pavlik and had great wins just before Calzaghe too. He's also still ranked 4 in the world, and the 2nd best LHW.

Most also agree Calzaghe beat Reid in fact even Reid himself said so after the fight. He was offered a re match which he also admitted, but turned it down. So your wrong there.

Calzaghe was not happy to face Veit again, he didn't want to and was forced to some time later as he was a mandatory. Happens a lot in boxing, but he's still the only guy Joe's re matched and it was because it was forced.

i really wish hopkins would stop begging for a calzaghe rematch, he'll only get beat again, he's too old for the workrate, and it showed last fight, he's not getting any younger

Quote one example of him throwing a tantrum or getting emotional. He says Hopkins is an idiot and a bad loser and a cheat, which is simply a statement of fact. Hopkins is also a great fighter, which Calzaghe doesn't dispute, but he's still all of the above. Calzaghe also says their respective styles mean that a rematch would be as ugly and boring as the first fight, which is almost certainly true - Hopkins has stated that his primary tactic to slow Joe down was to clinch a lot, for instance. And why would the fans want to see another boring fight, other than the really hard core fans? How are you going to sell a fight like that? And why would someone at this stage of Calzaghe's career want to be involved in another ugly and boring fight?

And if you want a rematch with someone, then you don't diss them at the post-fight press conference the way Hopkins did, that's just ******. It was obvious in that press conference that Hopkins had burnt his bridges as far as getting a rematch was concerned.

Make sense, rematch or retirement, maybe even a Dawson fight? He has nothing else to prove.

Then go take up hair dressing. The fight was a close split decision with Calzaghe on the wrong end of a knock down. Hopkins deserves a rematch. That's the bottom line.

I was 100% for hopkins that fight and up until the last second I was hoping he would knock Calzaghe out and still win. But I was not delusional enough to think he won the fight.

Realistically & Financially...this is the only fight for Hopkins that makes sense. Redeem the lost with Calzagahe and then retire.

Im not pressed to see it again and its a valuable lesson for Bernard.

I remember watching that fight being extremely frustrated with him.

                      Roy never stood a chance.
