first off i liked the first fight yea it was rough but thats what we all expected it to be. second hops is not a racist. im white and didnt take it as being racist. he said what he had to say to get the fight. besides the brits are known as the white people. so he said he would never lose to a white man. so what he said that. im sure calz called him something worse and hops called him something worse before that and in the ring. i hate when people play the race card. calz said he would never fight hops, hops made that comment and calz took the fight. he did what he had to do. i want to see they in the ring again.

I'm sure you're right, but no white boxer would get away with saying "I'll never lose to a black boy". What Hopkins said was racist and out of order, even if he isn't racist himself; and he should have apologised after the fight, IMO.

Calzaghe had been calling Hopkins out for months prior to that, and went over to Hopkins in LA to confront him and try to get the fight, not the other way round. I think it would be true to say that he said what he did in order to help sell the fight. But I still think it was out of order and that he should have apologised after the fight.

It's like I said in another thread, sarcasm doesn't seem to work on this forum.

Some people actually thought you were being serious

The reason is that some people in this forum seem to have an irrational hatred of Calzaghe and a paranoid attitude towards Hopkins, so I mistakenly took it seriously. I've already apologised for not realising it was a joke.

Should be titled: "Hopkins Squinty, Almond-shaped Eyes Joe Calzaghe Rematch, Or Retirement"

I'd rather see Calzaghe-Hopkins II than Taylor-Hopkins III. You only fight a third time if the fighters are 1-for-1... and Bunny Hop is 0-2 against Taylor.

Calzaghe been calling out Hopkins since around 2001. In 2002 they were supposed to fight. I'm not sure why you're under the impression that Calzaghe never wanted to fight Hopkins. That was his sole reason for going to Vegas during Mayweather-Hatton.

                      Nonesense.

Calzaghe wanted the fight to be in Wales, knowing full well Hopkins and RJJ would not come to Wales.

Its like saying Hopkins/RJJ going to Romania to fight Lucian Bute? Why would they want to do that?

Calzaghe was small fish, and nobody wanted anything to do with someone holding the worst belt in the worst division.
