The demand is so high so it doesnt look like this is going to happen soon.
Its the same as to say that petroleum companies will close cause the price per barrel is too low these days. The demand is still there and its a question about time when the tables are turning.

All I know is that if HBO dropped boxing, I'd drop HBO. Netflix instant play via XBOX 360 is far better for movies and I don't like the editorial slant of their documentaries. Any good series they might produce I'd rather wait and watch one after the other on a Sunday afternoon on DVD or Netflix. Same goes for Showtime, as long as we're about it.

yeah Boxing and HBO go together pretty well

all I know is that if HBO did drop boxing

it will really show how much boxing in the US has fallen off.

I mean to go from title fights on network cable .. to $60 Pay Per Views .. to HBO dropping boxing

granted the last is a huge hypothetical, but still an interesting one none the less.

If HBO did drop boxing it would probably be one of the best things to happen to the sport. It would make boxing go back to its roots as a sport and not just a money hungry sport. Fighters would have to fight more and do it for less of a cost since the new companies whether it be network tv or a regular cable station wouldn't shell out the same amount of dough. It would finally allow more people to see fights and see many of the top fighters going against other top fighters. Gone would be the marketing and business of boxing and it would be more of a sport which we would all want.
