So it's clear to me no matter who says such things, that the more regularly said stronger comments hold more weight. Further still why would Calzaghe say I'll face Jones post 2004 when he's been knocked out a few times, just to be 'the latest comment'. That doesn't make sense given he was being knocked out. He's said also I'm pretty sure post 2004 that he would have faced Jones back in the day, and only did because he got on the winning trail again.

I disagree that Osca got more criticism than Calzaghe. I'm on these boards a lot and read through a lot of threads on those topics, and Calzaghe got far more criticism than the direct clear and profounder contradictions of Osca's as far as I saw.

I'm not excusing Joe's comments and said they were daft, but people saying things at times that can be taken out of context. This isn't an overly strong comment saying he wouldn't face him, by any means. Further still people say things in the heat of the moment they may not mean or stand by, or truly think. It's not worth getting worked up about and ranting about like it means something profound, frankly doing so looks a little desperate to criticise with any little thing.
No,he never said he wouldn't face Jones but he did say the purse would have to be monumental in order to risk it. At the time Jones was ranked high in the P4P charts and was the draw, so the split would not of favored Joe. I think he would of at least been smart enough to realize that. There is no need to take the quote out of context as it is plain to see the meaning. Jones=could lose my 0 so I want a mega payday{Crown ***els} to fight him.

Oscar was heavily criticized for his fight with Pacman especially after the loss, I don't know how you could of missed that.....

Clearly Hatton based on the Mayweather fight alone.

You shut up. Facing Mario Veit, Branko Sobot, David Starie and Will Mcintyre = Automatic shot at P4P king with equal purse and your choice of venue.

Yes, you are correct btw, Kris sees what he wants to see so he can defend Joe. Oscar de la hoya was mercilessly attacked on this forum and in the media for his various hypocritical statements and actions. He only missed this because it doesn't suit the defense of Joe.

He did once say he didn't want to face Jones - in 2003, shortly after Jones beat Ruiz.

"He only said that because Jones was a heavyweight and Calzaghe certainly couldn't move up that far" Unless he is facing Klitschko

Hatton, easily... had the balls to move up a weight and fight Floyd Mayweather because he simply wanted to fight the best fighters... win or lose... he gets my respect for trying. Also taking up a fight with Manny Pacquiao which I also think is a bit of a risk... I think there is a goo chance of Hatton losing, but once again he gets my respect for fighting him in the first place and trying to fight the best out there.

As for Calzaghe, he has had a great achievement... undefeated in 46 pro fights, and looks to be retiring undefeated, but I gotta say Hatton has took more risks no doubt.

hatton hands down. 1st moving up in weight to challenge P4P king at the time PBF (a prime Floyd by the way). now he's facing current P4P king Pacman. calzaghe never took risk. if u call a 43 year old and a 40 year old a risk than ur a bias calzaghe fan
