    Robinson.

Boxing has evolved and techniques have improved though.

Although I would also go with Robinson I think that might be a tad strong. It is a pretty subjective topic and there have been a lot of incredible fighters and ppl apply different criteria in their decision making.

        - Boxing Record
        - Quality of Opponents Faced
        - Legacy or Impact on the Sport of Boxing

I think these points are most important when analysing who the greatest is but feel free to add your own and I'lll edit the post.

I'm not putting a poll because there would be far to many to limit it to just 10 or however many it allows!

        The list so far is:

        1. Sugar Ray Robinson - 9
        2. Floyd Mayweather Jr - 1
ALI... then Louis... Sugar Ray Robinson... Sugar Ray Leonard... Marvin Hagler...

        That's my list.

Sugar Ray Robbinson -> Mohammad Ali -> Floyd Mayweather Jr.

These three because they combined perfect or almost perfect technique with amazing intelligence in the ring. In their primes all of these fighters made you say "no one can beat this guy tonight" at one point. Worth mentioning Lennox Lewis, Ray Leonard, Roy Jones Jr. and Evander Holyfield.

I'll take Whitaker over Mayweather for ability... and he fought in the 90s.

Mayweather is not all time, sorry huggers.

whitaker is another good choice, but his lack of power hurts him and i dont know what fighting in the 90s has to do with anything. floyd proved he has power to go along with his defense, hand/foot speed, stamina, all around boxing skills

I was just saying I didn't have to go very far back to find someone who is better ability wise.

Whitaker wouldn't need to KO Mayweather, so I don't think he would be hurt by lack of power.

Whitaker's defense is better than Mayweather's prime for prime.

all im saying is that i believe floyd is a more complete fighter than whitaker, though i liked that whitaker actually took risks in fights
