Why is Ali better than Mayweather?

That shouldn't always be expected. One day a great fighter willl come along and just beat everybody and he will rightfully be the greatest if his skills are just that good that he can't lose and fights within a reasonable time and a reasonable amount of fights.

However Mayweather aint it. Although Mayweather is great and has a solid resume and is in the Top 30 ATG without arguement imo. Anywhere you wanna put him in the 30 is fine with me.

I dont believe there ever will be or has been a fighter capable of doing that, not one who has done it consistently against the elite level competition anyway.

Its impossible imo. There can only be a certain amount of difference between one fighter to another, because we are all human being at the end of the day.

Anyway, Sugar Ray Robinson was pretty much that. After Lamotta beat him the first time, he went on a 95-0 run where he beat Lamotta multiple times. That's as close to unstoppable as you can be.

He fought pretty much everybody and beat pretty much everybody, if it weren't for those last 2 fights, he would have beaten every man he's stepped into the ring with, I think he had something like 25 heavyweight title fights over 30 if you include the NABF, which was more highly regarded back then than it is now. Speed, power (even though he wasn't the biggest puncher, most accounts have him as being a bigger puncher than people give him credit for, he just didn't just down on a lot of his shots), chin, heart etc. Great fighter and he proved it against great opposition while beating a lot of them when he was arguably past his prime, something Mayweather has not done as of yet.
