I think alot of the hardcore fans wanted to see Joan Guzman vs. Pacquiao. Remember how they were talking about this fight a few years back? But, Pacquiao has tasted the mega fight and this will never happen. It would've been a war for the ages. Too ****in bad.

Yep and the fight was to happen in Vancouver Canada, which I was planning on driving to (Seattle is only a few hours away). Obviously Pac's level is so high now and cuz of Guzman's recent blunder it's very unlikely it would ever happen. But interesting match up indeed.

Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao coming to Vancouver
Filipino boxing great Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao's next fight may be in Vancouver.
PhilBoxing.com is reporting that Vancouver businessman Geoffrey Hughes is behind efforts to stage the fight in Vancouver against either Mexican Humberto Soto or WBO champion Joan Guzman of the Dominican Republic.
Although American promoter Bob Arum has continued to keep the cards close to his chest as to Pacquiao's next foe, all indications point to naming the next opponent when the site deal is finalized, the website reported. The other site being touted is Macau.
According to Michael Marley of ******************.com, the key man working on a possible Pacquiao fight in Canada is Hughes, who is reportedly a good friend of promoter Lou Dibella.
"It's no secret that the proposed site is Vancouver, British Columbia, where it is said about 140,000 Filipinos reside. Vancouver could also draw from the large number of Pinoys in the Seattle area, only a few hours drive or a shorter plane flight away," Marley added.
Pacquiao, 28, is a Filipino icon whose scrappy style and rapid-fire punches have made him immensely popular among boxing aficionados. His star power was used by President Gloria Arroyo in the country's recent elections.
Pacquiao holds the World Boxing Council "international" superfeatherweight title.

Roach wants Pacquiao to face Guzman before Marquez
Manny Pacquiao and his trainer Freddie Roach want Dominican Republic’s Joan Guzman as the next opponent for the Philippines’ national pride, according to a report posted on Sunday by Sun-Star Cebu.
However, the deal has not yet been sealed as they are still waiting for the go signal from Golden Boy Promotions (GBP) and Sycuan Ringside Promotions — the co-promoters of Guzman, who is the World Boxing Organization super featherweight champion.
Top Rank’s founder and chairman Bob Arum has been negotiating with GBP’s Richard Schaefer and Sycuan’s Glenn Quiroga to allow the undefeated Guzman to fight Pacquiao on October 6 in Vancouver, Canada.
On a positive note, GBP executives Schaefer and Eric Gomez aren’t keen on holding back Guzman if the money offered by Arum and Top Rank is enough.
Roach has also given the go signal for his prized fighter, Pacquiao, to fight Guzman, whom he earlier described as the only fighter in the super featherweight division who has the arsenal to beat Pacquiao.
It seems Roach and Top Rank want Pacquiao to face Guzman first before the champ goes on a rematch against the WBC super featherweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez.
Pacquiao had earlier sent a letter to the World Boxing Council (WBC) asking it to name another mandatory challenger to Marquez, a move that drew a lot of flak not only from Pinoy fight fans but from the WBC president Jose Sulaiman himself. - GMANews.TVComment
