I think it might be because no mandatory has challenged for the WBA or WBC title at 168 since 2006.

I have read that if Froch-Taylor doesn't happen, Karo Murat will be the mandatory instead, and even if it does happen, the winner might have to fight Murat.

      I agree.

I can see Kessler stopping Froch. Taylor and Bute wins wide UDs.

Froch KOs Bute and loses to the others.

Andrade showed that Bute canot take the punches of someone determined to hit him. Froch would show that determination from round one, where Andrade only showed up in the last 2 rounds.

I'd have to disagree. I thought that for 11 rounds Lucian Bute was thoroughly outboxing Librado Andrade. There's something wrong with that Librado guy, I get the feeling you could hit him with a sledgehammer square on the chin and he wouldn't fold. Mikkel Kessler beat the hell out of him and he was still standing. Although I thought that the Bute-Andrade fight should have been stopped in Librado's favor(as Bute was defeated in the last 20 seconds and could no longer defend himself, the lack of time left on the clock should never affect a referees decision to stop or not stop a fight), I thought that Bute showed a lot. The man can box. I think that Carl Froch is a nasty power puncher, but I see his defense as porous and I see Bute taking full advantage.

if froch cant get taylor or bute he should go after andrade in another possible fight of the year, they both have relentless styles that will mesh well, that being said i dont feel froch is ready for kessler yet, or ever will be, i belive froch is just to easy to hit and throws a tad to wide which is a disaster against a guy like kessler, i feel he can beat taylor and bute if hes on his game but not to many at smw can match kessler skill for skill

He has a very good one...but Kessler breaks it if Carl makes himself as hittable as he did against Pascal. Which he probably will.

I can’t imagine why any of them should want to turn him down.

Froch is the kind of fighter I would love to see against any of them. He has the balls, attitude, and hart to make it fun to watch.
I don think he would win though. All 3 have good defense and excellent jabs, and since Froch himself is wide open, I believe they would turn out to be poison for him.

Another match up I would like; Andrade vs. Froch. It could be the FOTY of 2009 IMO.

It looks like the Taylor fight will be next accordin to his promotor on the Steve Bunce Boxing hour.
