Carl Froch Targets Mikkel Kessler, Bute and Taylor

Unbeaten WBC super middleweight champ Carl Froch wants the big names in 2009. At age 31, Froch feels that he needs to step on the gas and move his career forward at a high speed. After a fight of year battle with Jean Pascal to win the title in December, he wants to make his first defense against one of the three biggest names in the division. Jermain Taylor is Froch's mandatory challenger, but HBO, so far, has not shown interest in picking up the fight. [details]

HBO should not be preventing a Taylor vs. Froch fight.

Why do they not want this fight, yet find Dawson-Tarver II acceptable?

Kessler vs. Froch would be big in the UK and Europe, but Froch would lose his title for certain. Froch vs. Bute would be close and competitive.

Pavlik vs Lockett, even more acceptable.

HBO is not good for boxing.

Froch is one of the few good talents the UK has going so i hope he gets a fight soon with someone big. Taylor would be a great fight for him.

lmfao yer HBO put on Locket v Pavlik but won't touch Taylor v Froch. Probably because Froch is live and may just spark the **** out of Jermaine and HBO would loose their cash cow for another year or so!

Infact HBO has done a pretty ****e job the last few months with all the piss-poor/joke PPVs fights such as Calzaghe/Jones and DLH/Pacman.

Let's hope Froch v Kessler gets made and the fighters get paid well so we can see a war for a unified portion of the title! What a fight that would be.

Totally agree. Dawson vs Tarver II, who the **** needs to see that? Why not Dawson vs Johnson II? Seriously what is the point in HBO signing up the top US fighters and then putting them putting them in non-competitive fights rather than entertaining (Dawson-Johnson II) /world title (Froch-Taylor) fights.

HBO are making a big mistake not taking this fight... Instead they would prefer Kessler who would decapitate Taylor with ease. At least Jermain would have a chance against Froch.
