It's not his style because he was afraid to get hit. He was never in any back n forth fights. A warrior's mentality could have made RJJ even better. I get sick watching the third tarver fight and the cal slap me while i protect myself fight.
A warriors mentality might have also got him ****ed up earlier on. Maybe he didn't have the best chin and he didn't want to risk it. Why did you even bring up Roy Jones in a Shane Mosley thread?
Does Shane have the Mexican boxing style figured out?
Just box on the outside and you will win easy
So then why aren't more fighters under 140 doing that against all the Mexican champions that rule those divisions. Easier said than done and whats really scary is a lot of those Mexican champions are more technical fighters than pressure fighters.
mexican boxing style with the exception of the great oscar de la hoya = TAKE 4 PUNCHES TO LAND 1
Wow you must watch Classic Telemundo fights from the early 80's because most Mexican fighters now are some of the most technical fighters in boxing today.
Wow you must watch Classic Telemundo fights from the early 80's because most Mexican fighters now are some of the most technical fighters in boxing today.
But the Mexican fighters you all are talking about being technical are still only a handful when considering the way the majority of Mexicans fight.
to much is made out of this mexican fighting style. It's not a mexican style. Look at JMM, izzy, rafa marquez, mijares and i can list many more. They are very technical fighters. It's all in your mentality! It has nothing to do with your race. Most black guys are scared to get hit! if you got the warrior mentality you got the warrior mentality it has nothing to do with race. Look at gatti and ward they had the warrior mentality, hollyfield and tyson had the warrior mentality and alot of mexicans due to their roots and upbringings they have a warrior mentality. It's not your race that decides how you go about things it's your heart, your will, and your mentality.
