On the money. He knows this too. Time has a unique characteristic, makes people like Joe Calzaghe become Joe Who? And people like "Floyd Gayfeather" or whatever you people call the man, GREAT. Like Ali.I feel sorry for Floyd Mayweather, because........he is delusional enough to think he will be remembered of more fondly when he is retired. He will be the most disrespected P4P champ of all time and he will never be get the true merits or ranking in history he deserves, because of how he had handled his career and himself as a person.
His fans say Muhammad Ali talked trash he was disliked etc etc. Therefore Floyd will get his props eventually

Yeh, thats all you guys hang on to. Its like a piece of thread that never leaves your pocket. Floyd never fought Margarito and Cotto... who gives a ****?
10 years from now, no one will care. They'll look at his accomplishments and all this **** about Cotto and Margarito will be gone. Like i said, just the way boxing is.
Why make a thread about a fighter you obviously HATE and try and make people hate him as well? Its the same petty arguments on this website everyday. Why not make an interesting thread where people can put boxing input to...
Whats your aim about making this thread? For people to dislike Floyd? The ones that hate him will continue hating him and the ones that like him will continue liking him.
Just another pointless thread made by another Fanatical Floyd Hater.Comment

There are several things that can happen to either prove or disprove what your saying. The thing about how he will be thought of depends on the guys you want him to fight. Think about it. Tony and Cotto are the two guys that everybody wants to see in the ring with Floyd right now. People will only remember that if they themselves stay relevant and have their own legacy. If Tony were to lose to lets say Clotty in a rematch and Cotto lost in the near future people would call for the Floyd match ups less and less. Over time the fighters may be forgotten by non hardcore fans. In fact a win over Pacman who is all but garunteed to leave a great legacy might do more Floyd then the other two combined. Now the converse could happen as well and both Tony and Cotto could do things that would cause them to remembered as great over time. If that happens you are right. I would like to see Floyd fight all three guys to be honest. I always felt Cotto was the guy the was supposed to get the first shot at Floyd because that fight has been there forever. Though Tony has been calling for it, I feel that his win over Cotto was what makes the Floyd fight big enough. The cotto fight was already big.I feel sorry for Floyd Mayweather, because........he is delusional enough to think he will be remembered of more fondly when he is retired. Floyd will always be remembered as the guy that retired in his prime, because he did'nt have the guts to clean out the red hot WW division.Comment

Depends on what the two guys you want him to fight do. I don't think anybody would critize him if he fought one or both of those guys and then called it quits. Maybe they would want him to fight Pacman but thats about it. Over time people may look back and think two fights may not be that big of a deal of the long term. If Cotto and or Tony turn out to be greats then it will be a big deal.Comment

Like i've said on many posts, If , Margarito is still the best WW this time next year and Floyd comes out of retirement to fight Pacquiao and beats him, they'll fight in 2010.
I want to see Floyd fight Margarito. Its a question mark over his head, which he does'nt need especially as he has the ability to get an easy UD over him.
But how much more credit will you give Floyd if he beats Margarito? Listen its all good hating on fighters. If you don't like them, your entitled to your opinion. But be fair. I hate Calzaghe, but i give him credit for unifying the Supper Middle, other than that i have no respect for him. I would however gain respect if he faces Dawson for his light heavy crowns. This will legitimize the best Light Heavy out there. Also, Dawson is a young hungry fighter, unlike Roy Jones Jr.
But how much of Floyds respect will you gain if he beats Margarito? Be honest with me here.Comment
